WARNING: Flouride and Infants!

Ask:
Dentists have a warning for mothers with infants!!

is the article!
Answer:

Thanks for sharing. Another good reason for nursing...not that my little guy will let me stop!
Answer:

Okay, so I used the read to feed formula, and just switched to powder about two months ago. My peditrician told me to use the Nursery water. I am assuming that is okay. It is not tap water. I will have to double check with her at our 9 month check up.
Answer:

hmm well i thought that the floride in the water was a good thing umm ok well that's something to check with the dr on.
Answer:

Ash, I guess maybe its to much floride.

Thanks Christy I will be sure to pass this info on to my sil, their baby is almost 3 months old.
Answer:

Yes they would be getting to much. but I was told they don't need it.
Answer:

I didn't read the article, but MIL drilled me about this Sat! I was always told that they needed the flouride and even made sure to drink filtered tap water while I was prego and for their formula! They even sell bottled water w/flouride now for kids!

Here is my thought: I grew up drinking flouridated water almost my entire life and my dentist says my teeth are in superb condition. I have only had 2 very small cavities in my life. My teeth aren't damaged in anyway. As a matter of fact, he won't bleach them because he says that I wouldn't notice enough of a difference! Let me add that both of my parents and my brother have horrible teeth and it is not from lack of care!
Answer:

yeah i'm thinking the same thing. i'm fine, my brothers are fine, so i don't guess i'm gonna lose sleep over this one.
Answer:

Yes, this is true. However, regarding nursing (I'm an avid nurser), our ped put both of my kids on flouride drops daily because I nurse, so they got NO flouride without it. Even now, my 6 yr old is on the drops because we only use bottled or tap water. No cavities yet, knock on wood! But, you do have to watch the intake levels. The drops we use are rx ones, not covered by insurance. I think we pay about $12 for them.
