Where does everyone buy their clothes?

Ask:
The last place I bought some clothes for myself was Old Navy (clearance section of course). I'm planning on doing some yardsaling this summer, or to check out consignment shops. Do any of you have luck wit yardsales or consignment shops for adult clothes?
Answer:

I have had luck in the past with Consignment shops. I just have not gone searching since I moved here. I hate buying jeans and had to break down and buy some this year. I found mine at WalMart. They fit me better in the waist then any others that I tried to find. I bought a turtleneck from LLBean and absolutely love the quality of it. I watch sales everywhere I go. I go looking for kids stuff usually and then look for something since I am there for myself.
So, in answering, everywhere....
Answer:

Right now, I'm not buying much. And when I am buying, I'm concentrating on quality. I'm sick of T-shirts that have crooked seams - you know, where the side seam starts to twist half way around the body. I'm also between sizes right now - doing WW - so I'm not highly motivated to buy pants. I NEED pants but I want to wait to buy them. Besides, it's almost shorts weather and, if I can hold out until then, I won't have to worry about long pants for a while.

Stores:

- Deseret Thrift Store for funky summer dresses and skirts. If I find an interesting sweater or T-shirt, all the better.

- Eddie Bauer outlet for shorts, pants, T-shirts and sweaters.

- Fred Meyer (a Northwest Chain store like a Super Target including the grocery section) for shorts, pants, skirts, T-shirts and sweaters. They carry Columbia, etc so you can get really nice quality clothing at a decent price.

- Macys for dresses, nicer stuff and undies. I really like their in store brands; what is the name? Chart Club and Jennifer Moore?

- Sporting good stores for high quality, durable women's wear.

Shoes ... drat if there isn't any great shoe stores anymore. I've been looking on like and going to specialty shoe stores like The Walking Company, etc.

Bras ... I usually find at Dillards but I have to be very careful when I enter that store - way too tempting!

Lately I've been avoiding:

- Target: just can't find anything interesting there

- WalMart: although I do like their Great Earth ? shoes

- JC Penneys: something about how their clothes fit on me is weird but sometimes they have great sales

- Sears: I just can't find anything I like even with the Lands End selection. I do scan their shoe section, though.

- Mervyns: I stopped shopping there long ago.

- Shopko (a west coast store?): The lower quality merchandise isn't worth it in the long run.

- Gap / Old Navy: I THINK I find things I like there but they end up sitting in my closet then go to the declutter bin all too quickly.

We'll have a Kohls opening here soon. I've shopped there while travelling and my reaction has been mixed. I'll have to see how the local store does.

Answer:

I buy almost all my clothes at Kohls. I love their junior section, their jeans are the only ones that really fit.
I would love to find more clothes for myself at the thriftstore or consigment store but I only find good stuff for my kids there.
Answer:

I like Jcpenny. But for some reason I have to wash in cold or it will shrink, no matter what it is. I also like target. As far as yard sales No luck, consignment shops tend to be pricey for used stuff and thrift stores can be great sometimes and a bust the next. IF you are going to shop thrift you have to go offten and only take what you really like.
Answer:

Thanks for all the advice ladies. I totally forgot about Sam's Club and Costco... I love buying name brand clothes there. We have a Kohl's and I've only been in it once. I will have to go and check it out again for my kids and me. Thanks!
Answer:

I do pretty good at resale shops. I will buy some dresses from Herbeger's. I can get them for a real nice price. Last dress was 12 dollars brand new. I do good with jeans from yard sales.
Answer:

I am pregnant now, so I buy from Target maternity and Gap and Old Navy Maternity. When I am not pregnant it is pretty much Gap and some at Old Navy.
Answer:

I'm always looking for sales and bargains.
I used to buy Ann Taylor and Banana Republic for quality work pants. They would last me years and never go out of style. Then my work tops would come from the following stores.

Now, being a SAHM I only need casual clothes.

J.C. Penny's: It seems that I find a lot of good deals and cute clothes at J.C. Penny's.
I like things that don't get out dated too quickly, but are still cute and young looking. I tend to buy one big batch of things on line from Penny's before each new season....I've done this twice so far.

Target: I like to find cute cheap tops here. Their jeans are always too small for me.

Kohl's: They always have great sales and cute items for jewlery, clothes for my whole family and pictures.

Shoes: I used to really like buying Nine West shoes when they were on sale. They were great for work and lasted a long time too. Now I try to find cute cheap casual shoes at Kohls, Payless, Shoe Carnival, and T.J. Max.
