Yeah, someone asked in another post how they picked the winners and so I went and investigated. It's the "hollywood" elite again, voting for themselves. So obviously they're going to award their album awards. Probably those people wouldn't even normally listen to them, but they're going to vote for them anyway. It's all about the politics. Their CD did sell quite a few copies, but was certainly not one of the bigger selling CDs of the year (like Carrie Underwoods!!).

I think they did win best counrty song!!! I'll have to go back and check but i think it was.
This was so politcal. It had nothing to do with the song or the artists. They were trying to make a point. I'm sad for the artists that really deserved it. Oh well.
Oh and i don't even mind the DC. I actually like the song....I am just ticked that they could win even though there are better songs, albums and artists that deserved it.

my dh commented last night that our local country radio station hasn't played them in a long time...(the firehouse has a radio that they keep on all the time in the truck bay). i wonder if the station made that descision, or if it's just a coincidence...

Ugh! Neither can I! It has nothing to do with their politics; I just hate the lead singer's twangy voice. My dd heard one of their songs on the radio many years ago and thought the lead singer's voice was hysterical.

That's why I was so surprised that they won -- the radio stations in my area never play their songs anymore either. I thought the Dixie Chicks had gone by the wayside. Guess not.
As I was leaving this morning I heard on the radio that a ton of listeners in our area are outraged at the Dixie Chicks' wins last night. I live in a red state, so the Dixie Chicks are not very well liked down here.
