Ask:
I am looking for toddler bedding for my daughter and I can't find anything I like! She's not into any characters, and I don't really like that stuff from Wal-Mart. I've checked Pottery Barn and Company Kids, but don't see anything I like. Help! I don't want to spend a fortune but we need to get something for her new bed. Thanks.
Answer:
I couldn't decide on a theme for my daughter either. I just got her plain white sheets and pink blankets. I figure they'll go with whatever theme I come up with in the future!
Answer:
I can't find anything I like for my son either. I am considering something plain for the comforter and plain paint on walls.
Then, I think I will have a train theme with sheets, pictures and stuff.
Answer:
We jsut use the sheets we had from their cribs and then their special blankets that they are attached too. My son has a blue and white quit someone gave me when I was expecxting and my grandson as a red teddy bear quilt that was made for him when he was a baby. I have never spent extra money on a toddler bedding set for any of my kids.
Answer:
I agree on the character thing! We are trying hard not to let the characters infiltrate our home!
My mom got dd a set from babiesRus. It is a pink gingham with purple trim and there is a butterfly applique on the blanket & the pillowcase. I think it was about $40 and is made by KidsLine. It has held up very well. I bought additional toddler sheet sets on ebay. I like having the top sheet because she gets too warm under a blanket sometimes. The toddler sets have a top sheet that is fitted on one end so it stays tucked in!
If you have a special quilt or something, then just the sheet set would be fine. I don't remember the name of the seller, but someone makes them & sells them new on ebay. I bought a pair of these used and I like them very much. If I need more I wouldn't hesitate to buy them new for around $20-$25. If I can find them, I'll post a link for you.
Answer:
If we put ds in a toddler bed (as opposed to a twin) we'll just use his crib quilt(s) and blankets and crib sheets - maybe buy one toddler set so he has a top sheet - but since his crib doesn'thave one I don't think he'll miss it.
If we go the twin bed route I just want a plain comforter - I'd rather accesorize to match his room - all the themed bedding for children just seems way too busy IMO.
Answer:
check ebay!
Answer:
I would just go with a plain comforter (maybe her favorite color) and chose a different color for the sheets and some cute throw pillows. This will allow you to keep it for a while and you can always change the color of the sheets for something different. Check out the clearance items at Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, or other discount stores to see if there is something plain, but cute, you may be in luck!
Answer:
Since they usually don't stay in there long, I would just use crib sheets and a fleece throw or any blanket.
Answer:
If she has a crib sized mattress you could always make your own sheets. I used to do that with both of my kids. It's VERY easy to do, and you can find soooo many cute fabrics. Here's a link to a pattern if you want to check it out:
