Ask:
I was at the Post Office and the mailman said I really need a return addy because they will otherwise mark as suspecous(sp?) and likely to be opened. I told him it's for my secret sister. He looked at me like i was crazy. He did mark it with postal addy. I know this mailman pretty well. He was not trying to be a jerk or anything. the card I received from my SS was just the local stamp not the entire address. So what do we do?
Answer:
I've never had a problem with just letters or cards, but yes, packages are tricky! You can either ask your little sis not to peek, hope she doesn't know you by your address, or just give it up!! A few alternative suggestions...have someone else mail the package from out of town, buy online and put someone else's address in the "from" part, or send gift cards since they can't be traced! Anyone else???
Answer:
Cards and letters are no problem but packages our post office INSISTS on a home rtn addy....I just try to write it as sloppy as humanly possible, while still being ledgible enough And if my SS hasn't figured me out yet, she surely has by this post!!
Answer:
Its a dead give away if i put my return! Im going to send it from other peoples addresses. I also am going to order via the net.
Answer:
I am thinking that is why my little sister (Klippy) did not get a card I sent 3 weeks ago. I sent her something today with my address. If it gives it away, it gives it away. So be it. I would rather her get the stuff than not.
Don't you just hate this post 9/11 world? That is really too bad!
Answer:
I have never had an issue with anything I have ever mailed. Most often I never put a return address...until I am found out. The reg post office I used to go to, and now the two I visit regularly have NEVER said anything about it for envelopes or packages.
Hmmm??

Answer:
My mother in law just writes her street address and zip on her bills (I've always considered ordering her some address labels)
Answer:
I don't know, I just sent a package yesterday using the self serve thing at our post office, I hope she gets it. It's not like it has to go far, my secret sister and I live in the same county.
When I got a package from my secret sister, she put her address, but not her name, but it didn't help me guess.
Answer:
When I have mailed out packages to ss's in the past, I have put their address as the send to address and I've also put it down and the return address.
