I found a frugal gift for dh's valentines day present

Ask:
I feel so frugal!!

I went to our high-end grocery store and bought dh a really nice plant, a Sheffalaria (sp?) also known as "umbrella plant". They can grow quite large, and as he got a new office at work I thought it would be nice. It was $2.99.

I went home, found a basket from Last Valentines day (red) and put the plant into it. Then I filled it in all around with those gift packaging 'shreds' in red that I had leftover from X-mas. The woman at the grocery store was super nice and let me have one of those 'stick' things that go in flowers, like from a Florist, and a card and envelope for free. I put those all together, added a curly ribbon, and it looks SO professional!! For $2.99! I am very happy to give him something 'living' and for such a nice price.

I also found a really nice card that I had last year for V-day and forgot to give to dh, so I count that at 'free'!

It feels so good to be frugal and still come up with an impressive gift!!!

Awesome! I love the idea of a gift he'll be able to look at for longer than a few days.

I count stuff I already have as "free," too!
