Ask:
I LOOOOVE my Azelas that the previous owner left us. The colors are SO vibrant, Ihave a blood red one, and a really cool looking coral color. They bloom near mother's day and just add much charecter to my house.
I also really enjoy planting Impatients in my flower beds. I love how they grow together and make a cute little natural border. And there are pretty inexpensive as well.
I can't comment yet on any veggies cuz I havn't started that garden yet! I'm SOOOOOO Looking foward to spring!
Can some one else share thier favorite things?
Answer:
I have a couple of rose bushes out in the back yard, against my privacy fence. They bloom FULL of these tiny little roses for about 4 weeks during the summer. I am NOT a gardner (and didn't put these in), but I love them. If anyone DOES garden, maybe someone can tell me when it is I am supposed to trim them down in order to get them to bloom the best this coming spring/summer?
Answer:
My favorite from my flower garden is my Bees Balm. We had so much fun last summer watching the humming birds eating from them. I also really enjoyed my Columbine and my Day Lily's. Both of the latter are easy to care for and spread quickly.
This year I am really excited to see what the former owner had planted. I know that I have Lily of the Valley and Peonies, but the rest will be a surprise
Answer:
my fave are my hydrangeas. They are so pretty and they dry so nicely.
Answer:
I love my peony bush. I have an arbor on one end of my cloths line. I have a pink peony bush in front of it enclosed by some of that plastic lattis (sp). It's easy to snip when you let it warm up in the sun. I put plastic down and lots of mulch on top of it so it's always weed free. I love this plant because the flowers are huge and I don't have to do anything, they just bloom every year all buy themselves.
The rest of my arbor is covered with clematis. It takes clematis a couple of years to get going, but it's worth the wait. They are beautiful when they are in boom. The nice thing about this combination is the clematis needs to have cooler roots, so my peony bush shades them. It makes me want to go to the cloths line just to see them. I'm going to plant the same combination on the other end this year.
Answer:
my hostas...a few years ago my girlfriend and her dh bought an old, old house and remodeled it. one of the things they did was new modern landscaping. so they told me to come and dig up any of the old plants i wanted for my own yard. i got hostas, lily of the valley, irises...they're all beautiful (espicially my maroon irises), but the hostas are HUGE and i've split them 4 times since i planted them and they're still huge with gorgeous white flowers that smell sooooo goood...
Answer:
Oh I love hostas and lilly of the valley. I have tons of them too. Every couple of years I dig some of the bigger ones up and separate them, they are almost solid now in front of my bushes.
