Color suggestions?

Ask:
DH and I decided to FINALLY redo out master bathroom, I am in the process of getting the wall paper off (much easier than I had anticipated, knock on wood!) .

What color do you think is good for a master bath? The trim is all a natural color wood and a beige (light) vanity top.
The main bathroom is a green color (like a moss color) that I love but would you use the same color?
Also I am considering colors for the bedroom (It is still the neutral painters color as when we moved in) I am considering painting 1 wall brown in there (It would be a big main wall, the room has a cathedral ceiling) (I am in love with browns and blues lately). HELP ME!! What are your colors or what colors would you suggest (lights, darks? bold, muted?)...I'm so open to everything right now!!
Answer:

Well you know me...I like the darker colors...and that's actually a first for me! I wish we went darker in the main part of the house and the master bedroom...the master bath is good though.

But for you...go darker in the bedroom and a shade or two lighter in the bathroom...stay in the brown, dark beige category...then accent it with bold colors...burgandy, dark purple, etc...I know I'm giving you my decorating ideas from our bedroom...but go dark on the walls, take the color from your accents...you will love it!
Answer:

I matched my master bedroom and master bathroom colorwise. I used a sagey green and painted the walls and ceilings. I did all curtains and accessories in cream. It is really pretty. I find it easiest to pick colors by finding a peice of artwork that you love first, then pick the colors out of it.

I thought that sounded familiar! I was thinking a lighter brown than the bedroom...Or that same green in the main bathroom, that goes with brown and it would flow nice...but a light brown would flow better)

I find it easiest to pick colors by finding a peice of artwork that you love first, then pick the colors out of it. That was how I decided on a color for the downstairs bath, It had wallpaper and i found a $5 piece of 'art' and loved the colors and chose a light green wall that made the picture really "pop".

I would have the two rooms compliment each other and coordinate, too. I don't think I'm much help in the color department since I tend to like pastels and classical looks rather than stylish and trendy. I'm a bit boring.

I'm still open Jeannette! My downstairs is neutral and I love it! I'm just toying with the idea of going bolder in the bedroom ( NOT how that was supposed to sound ....I haven't made a decision yet...and knowing me I won't until I explore all my options!

If your going to change your bedding and curtains (don't know if you have curtains up...I don't...lol) Search for bedding...take your time looking for something...when you find something you LOVE...go in that direction for colors...it really helps!

I really like soothing colors in a bedroom. The boys have a soft green on the bottom 3/4 of their wall and the top above their border is sky blue. Ours is a soft icy blue in our room, and Wyndser has a soft pink. What color family are you partial to?

That's funny you said that about your boys room....I'm trying to talk Colin into something like that for his room! Kels just got this really pretty pink that my Aunt used for her DD room, they had too much of it so they gave me one and we did a fairy theme.

Dar...I have the same lace curtains (white) that my mom bought on clearance for $2 when we moved in, just to have something over the blinds...and comforter, I'm alternating between 2 country rose ones (reddish orange cabbage roses and tan background) but I can take them or leave them, I've been looking at them for 6 years. I think I want a change. Nothing in there matches except the furniture.

I'm partial to browns and beiges (my downstairs is a toffee color that I LOVE, b/c it is so versitle)..
