Ask:
I need to put together a cleaning 'schedule' for day to day jobs.. i've been in the process of decluttering/purging/organizing my home, and now I don't want all my hard work to come undone! lol!
If you could share your day to day schedule with me, and how you keep track of your daily housework chores (ie: charts, notebook, etc..), i'd be so appreciative!!
Thanks so much!
Answer:
I actually did this when I followed the fly lady schedule (check out her websit, it sounds exactly like what your looking for). However, I was able to follow it, but not have enough time for my family. Sooo, I have made friends with my dust bunnies and just do what I can. Currently, I'm sitting amidst the rubble like a big slug..lol

I have items as tasks in my outlook. Things like vacuuming are 1x/week, making sure the kitchen is clean is about every 3 days, bathrooms every 5 days or so. Laundry daily. Before ds #2 came along I had gotten very good at sticking to my tasks for the day - but since having 2 kiddos I've fallen way behind. Having a sort of schedule did help me stay on task at first tho - it's definitely worth a try!
Answer:
I recently created a simple Word document so I can try to keep things relatively clean. Every day has a list of items to be done that day in bold. As I complete the tasks I un-bold them and resave the document. That way when I get a little behind I can easly see what I still need to do. Simplistic but it works for me!

Clutter refers to a clutter sweep to try and keep it under control. The Roomba is the best thing I have ever bought. I use it to keep my kitchen hardwood floors swept. I try and polish the kitchen sink every few days or so. I also have a separate list of spring-cleaning-type chores that I do occasionally (windows, polish wood, etc). I am usually behind on this schedule because I have 2 kids and a swing-shift working husband, but at least I try. Good luck!

Answer:
I use the Flylady plan too-well, when I am out of work-I am a terrible cleaner, I think I am missing that gene. ANyway, having a plan really helped...especially the shining sink!

I have a schedule, each day I swiffer floors, take out trash, do laundry and wipe down surfaces. On Tuesdays, my sitter/housekeeper does the things I hate to do (bathroom, mop floors, and ironing) while I do errands (grocery, drycleaning, etc) By having her here with the kids insteasd of dragging them with me, I come out ahead, well, financially even. If I took the kids with me for errand day, I'd spend money on things to keep tham happy while out and about, instead I use that money to pay her, and I don't have to do the things I hate to do!!!
It also saves because I save errands, appts etc for errand day and rarely have drag the kids out for me things, only fun preplanned kid activites like the zoo, aquarium or children's museum.
