On my local Flylady group a member said she played "love it or live without it" with her kids.
She had allowed their rooms to get very messy, and took boxes and trash bags into the rooms and the kids had to decide with every item she picked up. They got rid of a lot of stuff!
And right now, I am taking a break, but my girls are upstairs playing it, and I told them once an item was picked up it either goes in the box, or gets put away immediately. I'll let you know how it goes....

I try to play that game with myself everyday, but I always seem to find somewhere to shove my extra yarn..etc...

I've always been good about purging....though my husband is the opposite!
I sometimes have to sort through his little "stashes" around the house.

Normally we tell the kids that if they don't pick up their toys, then we will and we will throw them away. That is our way of getting them to pick up after themselves. I need to really go through their toys, it seems that everytime I do, that's when they start playing with them again, then I think well we will hold on to this for awhile.....

Soccermom, that is how it is here! We were going to get rid of stuff we had ut in storage thay had not asked for, adn now, it's the new favorite.
Thay are having fun with this, and as of today had filled 3 boxes.
