Anyone belong to

Ask:
I do, but don't have too much contributed to it.
How's your experience w/it? Good ? Bad?

Just wondering...
Answer:

I do it. I only have my grocery store card enrolled though. It's been a few months and there's money in there. Every little bit helps, right? I don't know that I'll ever get a mortgage or the credit card through them though. I'd do better elsewhere I think but at least a contribution is being made for groceries, that will add up. I know others who got a nice little chunk for their kids, it covered deposits and some of the start up fees for the move.
Answer:

We are enrolled. It is slowly adding up. We don't have the credit card or mortgage, either and probably never will but we have our grocery cards and any credit cards we use attached to it. It is amazing what stores-online and not-contribute. It helps me when I have to buy a gift or clothing, etc. to think, well, we are also putting a few pennies towards DS's college fund.
Answer:

It has been helping my family...I got this account about 4 years ago, saved us little by little but it works. Not only groceries stores, when u go to MCdonalds and u pay with the atm debitcard, registered to your upromise acct. It credits the certain % to your acct. Just opened a 529 plan for my kids. A little bit helps.

Answer:

We have a upromise credit card and we have the upromise account connected at all of the local grocery stores and drugstores here and the ones my parents use in FL. We've accumulated over $300 in about two years. Its a slow process but you don't even think about it after you are all signed up everywhere. Its kind of like found money.
Answer:

My kids are enrolled but now we only have a grocery card signed up and that store is about an hour away. When SBC stopped participating it really stopped all the contributions going into it.
Answer:

what is this you are all talking about?? I have never heard of it...

Answer:

Go to upromise.com and sign up for free.
You register your priceplus type cards for the grocery and drug stores and when you buy something that is "sponsoring" upromise such as huggies diapers, you save 2 cents, 10 cents whatever it is into an account for college. You can also register your credit card and when you use it at the sponsored online stores or rent a car, buy a car, etc. etc., you save more money for college!!

My mom goes to FL and rents a car and uses it and also when she bought her impala got some money in her account. Of course, now she has 2 more grandchildren added to her account since she opened it. Oh, yes you can do it if you don't have kids, just name someone else's. HTH!
Answer:

We have a upromise and 529 plan. Every penny adds up over time and will at least help pay for books. Think of upromise as saving pocket change for your kids college education. I think after $30 is accumulated you can roll it over to a 529 plan
Answer:

We have had ours for a long time, I never remember to check online stores there first though, so it's not adding up much.
