Ok, ladies, I know because you are also mom's of SN children you can relate and that is why this is not in chit chat.
I am sitting here drinking a Samuel Adam's cream stout and eating a box of fudge sticks.
Need I say more? DH came in and I said hi, want a beer? He asked is it that kind of day? and handed me a box of fudge sticks cookies.
Yum, cream stout beer and chocolate cookies. Dinner!
Answer:
At least you have an understanding husband!!!! I don't drink, but I think we all have days like that!
Answer:
Good that we can have a release. I have had those days. Today it took 2 hours to get dd out of house from her meltdown. Just to pick up glasses. Enjoy your dinner.
Answer:
I so can identify. I don't drink, either, and never have...but it sure has crossed my mind lately!!
Answer:
I am sooooo craving chocolate but have none in the house and no extra $$ right now to get any. I don't like beer and am nursing, so Baileys is out of the ??.
Actually, our night went well. We had to go to the mall so dh could pick up his contacts. For the first time, I let 18 mo. old diva, who just started walking in January, play in the kids play area. DS, who is tall for his age, is over the height restriction, and was feeling so bad about it. We got there, and there were a couple of kids his height playing there, and it wasn't very busy so we let him go ahead. He had so much fun and made friends so easily. What a change from even a year ago! He was actually kind of holding court, as he had a stuffed gila monster that the kids wanted to see.
Meanwhile, dh took dd out in the play area and took her down the little slides. She was in heaven! This was her first time out in public to play since she started walking, as we have all been so sick. She had an absolute blast, and the older kids, save for one time, were so careful. She kept falling down and would just get right up and do it again. I was so proud of both my kids and let ds know it in the car on the way home. He was running around, having all out fun, looking at me once in awhile. I told him he was so well behaved, he really didn't have to look at me for approval anymore; to just have fun. If there was ever an issue, I would come to him, and I would NEVER leave him there without him knowing that a close friend or daddy would watch him, never someone he didn't know for a long time. Then.....mommy actually used a gift card from someone special and got a latte from the bookstore!!!! Of course, she shared!
I hope your tomorrow is better!

DesertMom,
A date nite with kids and it went well I am so happy you have gotten out and about. How wonderful to have your DS play with others. Were you over the moon? I can just imagine the smile on his face and yours as all the kids circled around and talked. I am just so happy for you.
I think it was that I got my period last nite so I was just crunchy yesterday. Nothing was wrong, just not a lot right.
Beer and cookies, yum!
Answer:
Tell DH he gets a standing ovation for that response! Sometimes chocolate is all we want!
