Colic?

Ask:
Anyone ever had a colicky baby? What worked for you? Give us your best tips for dealing with it.
Answer:

My youngest son had colic. It was awful!! And there wasn't a whole lot that helped him, but here are a few things we did. I believe alot of his crying was because his belly hurt, so his dr put him on pepcid. Then, when I would hold him, I would put his belly against me, to try to ease some of the gas he had. ( I was always too afraid to lay him down on his belly.) Another thing that worked for him was a little stroller. We would literally walk our legs off around the house, but it worked for him. I would also wrap him up tight when I rocked him. I think they have some different medicines now than they did when my babies were little. You may ask your doc. HTH
Answer:

I had 2 colicky babies.Nothing really cured it but time, but here are a few ideas for making it bearable:
1.Swaddling
2. Laying the baby belly down across your lap and rubbing their back
3. Babyswing
4. Gas drops in their bottles
5. Car rides
6. soothing sounds, like those hearbeat bears that make the noises of the womb
7. baby slings to carry them around
8. The football hold while rubbing their back
9. Floortime, laying on their belly stretching out helps expel trapped gas,of course supervise them and be in the room with them at all times
10. Send them to Grandma's or another relative if you are just at that breaking point. It's amazing how just one hour browsing thru your favorite store ALONE will recharge your batteries and calm you down enough to take over.
