ABC to pilot "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off: WSJ

Walt Disney Co.'s television network ABC has decided to pursue a spinoff of its popular medical drama "Grey's Anatomy," the Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.
It will star Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, the sexy neonatal surgeon played by Kate Walsh, the paper said.
A two-hour pilot of the show, which could add millions in additional advertising revenue, is likely to air in May, the paper said.
An ABC spokeswoman could not immediately be reached for comment.
Has anyone heard if she is leaving Grey's or will be on both????

I bet she will leave and just have her own show. Otherwise a spinoff would be pointless. Arent she and Derek from New York? That is probably where it would be... That is kind of sad though, I wanted something to happen with her and Alex...

Oh wow. I bet she is going to leave too. She has not been getting as much air time as the others recently and I bet she goes back to NY with Mark. I don't think a spin off will do as good though. We will have to wait and see.

Uh, well...if we 'lose' Addison this week, b/c of the new spin-off, it obviously won't be due to death....Does that make you feel better Jeannette? Shondra said in the blog...someone will die. She (Addison) can't die and then have the same character re-appear on a spin off, it just wouldn't work.
I know technically Meredith did die (she flat lined) and I did read the spoiler so I won't go any further with this line of thought....
I wonder if they'll make Grey's like what CBS did to CSI..Original, Miami, etc.....

I wasn't referring to the spinoff and Addison. I was referring to the fact that Meredith doesn't bite it. I was hoping not, but I didn't know for sure. Yet.
