Paid Internet Surveys

Ask:
Hi all,

I've just been poking around online and I found this site:
Now, I've seen all kinds of adds online for getting paid to do surveys, but I've been afraid of giving out my personal info and getting scammed. Do any of you have success making money online doing surveys like this? Or do you know anything about this site in particular? It looks legit, but I know that doesn't mean much.

I'd also like any other success stories about work-from-home opportunities, since I'm going to be a SAHM very soon, and DH isn't making a whole lot right now (like... maybe $800/month) due to circumstances beyond his control.

Thanks!!
Answer:

it looks like in order to qualify for their rewards, you have to complete offers that in turn require you to pay for something. It doesn't look like it's worth my time. However, surveyspot.com & nfomysurvey.com are safe free ones. You don't earn as much money, but you do get a little, and it's completely free just for answering surveys. Hope that helps!

I do the nfo surveys, and I am also a member of 2 companies where I scan all my purchases (they send a scanner) and I earn cash or prizes for that. I just received an email about another company and I signed up but I input my info and will be accepted if they need someone matching the criteria I put in. I have heard of it, it wa suggested by someone and I was on alist, but at the moment I cannot recall the name!!!

I won't do any where I have to purchase anything.

The shopping ones are from Shoppers Hotline and ACNeilsen. It can take a long time to earn rewards or cash, but it is a nice little "for me" treat when I do.

I just redeemed points and got a $50 debit card, and am taking that to Hawaii next week to blow on just me! I have turned points in for 50 free photos from an online site, gotten appliances, etc.

I also do the Bzz Agent. Which took over 4 months to get into, but it is fun to try new products they send. My kids love it, we just got Aqua Pod water bottles the other day. I did Take 5 candy bars, coffee, turkey....
Answer:

I do three different activities for 'pin money'

- Internet surveys
- Mypoints (read ads for points then exchange the points for gift cards)
- Mystery shopping

My experience with internet surveys isn't great. Usually I answer surveys and, IF I qualify, I earn points which can be redeemed for merchandise or gift cards. They certainly won't pay the mortgage. I participate primarily in: HI points, Lightspeed, and Zoom Panel.

Mypoints has been the best deal so far. I've redeemed several gift cards through them.

Mystery shopping was a bust. I was getting some good shops but it seemed every shop required me to shell out some money and, of course, since I was already shopping I'd end up buying a lot more than was required. After a while it got to feel as though they were assigned shops as a way of advertising for the stores - just to get more customers (ME!) to come in to buy. They also take forever to pay - over a month - so it wasn't worth it. I got my most shops from BARE (BAI) Mystery Shopping. It helps to become a certified mystery shopper, too.

IF you're going to sign up for any of these programs, I highly recommend that you create a second 'junk' e-mail account for yourself and use that when you sign up.

There are good and bad survey companies. If you use our search feature here, and type surveys, it'll help you find the threads posted about this, and there are a few posts about which companies are good (it's a common theme). I do surveys, and get a little money here and there, but it's definitely nothing to live on. I get products to test and all, but it's really a lot of work for little reward, IMO.
Answer:

Do you have a website for Bzz agent, that is one I have never heard of. Might be fun to try. Thanks!
Answer:

My dh works for NeilsenRatings, same company as ACNeilsen. Would I be excluded because of that?
Answer:

Oh and I can vouch for mypoints, its a great deal. I love it! I've also redeemed several gcs though them, just for reading emails. You can shop places through thier site to also recieve points per dollar spent. You also earn points through referrals, and any some surveys they send thorugh email. With referrals, when your referrallee earns 125 points on their own, you get 100 points. And they will occassianally double that to 200 points during certain points of the year.

I have enough points to redeem another gc, but I'm trying to save them up and bank them for the really huge gc.
