Ask:
I went away last week for five days. During that time, my dh stayed here with our oldest four children, and at some point, they lost the remote control for our den tv. It is our MAIN tv...and the remote controls the cable box, dvr, etc. OMG...it has caused HUGE uproar here. They claim they searched high and low for it...turning over furniture, digging out furniture, etc. Well, it has been a busy week for me since I got back, and tonight was the first time that MOM had to look for the thing. Gee, guess what? I found it and in less than ten minutes. It was deep inside our leather couch..and yes, it took digging, but not THAT much digging. So, my question for you all is what do you do with YOUR remote controls to make them STAY found?!?! (and putting them up everytime just isn't going to happen here with six kids and two adults) Does anyone have one that you can like "clap on"?!?! AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer:
You are supposed to keep it in one spot??? Hmm, never heard of that!
We actually have two recliners with a table in between and it is supposed to stay there. Well, that does not always happen...
Answer:
I wish it had a beeping mechanism like the cordless phone, that gets lost all the time as well I love the follow the beep.
my rule is to put it on the side table but I usually find between the cushions on the couch.
Answer:
It's usually permanently glued to dh's hand, and gets slept on while he takes his various weekend naps, heaven forbid you should change the channel on him while he's sleeping, cuz you know "he's still watching that show"!!
Answer:
I've always said I thought it should have a beeping button like momof2boys said. Seems so simple. You'd think that would be such a selling factor since everyone I know loses their remotes all the time. We've ended up having to buy 2 universal remotes because we lost ones we never found.
Answer:
Hey, anyone care to patent this idea and get it on the market this week!??!?!!?
Answer:
Ours is always in the couch. Need to find it just pull the couch apart and there it is. Would love a beeper for it. There is that rear time it is stuck in a chair or toy box.
Answer:
Ha! I've got one of those canvas things that fits over the arm of the couch and holds remotes. OK. And I've got a little stand that has baskets on it next to the couch. OK. Got the kids somewhat trained (including my 18 month old!). Who loses it and has no idea where it is? The 44 year old man!
Answer:
The TV remote usually always gets left on the TV stand, ottoman or somewhere on the couch.
Answer:
In a basket on the coffee table. DS has a bad habit of leaving it on the couch and it slides between the cushions. This rule was established last month after I found the universal remote we lost 2 years ago, inside the loveseat! It slipped down under the arm and through an opening I never knew was there....Also found a Pokemon gameboy game DSS lost 4 years ago!
