Ask:
We are looking to open a savings account and are searching for the best interest rates and one that we can use our account here in Okla. to just transfer to it when we want to add.
Answer:
ING Direct !!! Great interest rates!! I have our account linked to our checking and transfer money back-and-forth. The only downside is your money isn't transferred instantly ~ there is about a 2-3 business day lag time.
ETA: Their URL is and the savings interest rate is at 4.5% !!

I second the vote for ING Direct!!!!!
Answer:
We have ING too! I have six accounts set up with them. You can put money in and take out whenever you want, no minimums and/or you can set up a reoccurring deposit.
Answer:
I was going to vote for ING, too! I was leery of them when I first started receiving solicitations, but they have a lot of positive feedback, a rarity in this day and age.
Answer:
ING here too! If someone refers you, when you have the account open with over $250 then you get $25 and the referrer gets $10.
Let me know if you need a referral!
Answer:
count me in!! I can't believe how great the interst rate is! I've made a ton just in interst alone!
Answer:
I'll join in and say that I love ING. Yes it takes a couple days to get money out of savings but that is one of the things I like. That way I won't even want to take it out unless it is really an emergency.
If you know someone who has an ING account that can refer you and with an initial deposit of $250 you will get an extra $25 and the person who referred you will get $10.
Answer:
I like ING too!! I like that I can have multiple accounts set up with them really easily. For instance, when I refinanced last summer, I no longer do escrow so I have money automatically drafted from my regular checking account into an ING acct. labed "taxes and insurance" so that I earn interest on the funds and they are separated from my other savings. I also have set up several staggered CDs with them at much much better rates than I could get locally. I've not had any problem transferring money back and forth.
Answer:
How does an online savings account work? Wouldn't they need copies of your license, you signature, etc? How do you withdraw money?
