Balance Two Kids at different ages

Ask:
I am hoping that someone can give me some advice concerning my two children (3 and 1). I love doing activities with my 3 year old, but the 1 year old won't sit still for anything. If the 3 year old is coloring, the 1 year old, is pulling down the box of crayons, and irritating the 3 year old. I can't get him to sit still or interact just with him if his brother is doing something different (even reading a book)! I end up so frusterated that I don't even want to do activites! Please offer some help!!
Answer:

I tell you, I know what you are going through. My boys are 10 months apart with their little sister 2 1/2 years behind. My saving grace was a play pen. They learned to entertain themselves with the toys I put in there, each could have individual time with me while the other was safely playing, and I could teach them delayed gratification. I used one with all
3, and they all play independently very well, as well as with each other.

If I were you, I'd get one. When you need to work with 3 year old, then the 1 year old is out of the way, so to speak, and still safe.
