Ask:
We are talking about things to do that are fun and inexpensive in Mom's group next time. These can be ideas to do as a family, with/for your kids or by yourself.
What are some of your favorite things to do that are inexpensive, yet provide fun for everyone involved?
Some of mine are .... picnic at the park, create a "baking day" and have all the kids help, rent a movie and have family movie night - complete with popcorn, fun drink, & movie review (sometimes we have even made movie posters for the featured film). For myself I would have to say making a trip to the library alone - or the book store.
Answer:
Ok, for us, we go to the library every Sunday afternoon. We have make your own pizza night. I whip up pizza dough in the bread machine and everyone gets to make their own pizza then watch a $1 movie from RedBox. Our library offers free passes to museums and zoos, so we do that a lot. We go to Wendy's or even McDonalds for their $1 ice cream, too. We're also hikers and campers, so we spend a lot of our summer weekends doing that.
For myself it would have to be hitting the scrapbooking stores, my bible study group and my book club.
Answer:
The library and park are very high on our list! This year we're also getting a season family pass to the zoo ($60 for the family for the year)....for as much as we enjoy the zoo, that is a great deal!!
Answer:
Today we went to the pet store. DS is only 1 year so that is thrilling for him. Since we don't have any pets at the moment, we aren't tempted to buy anything while we are there!
Answer:
My kids are board game freaks. Once you've made the initial purchase ($10-$20) it's hours and hours of fun. They also like doing puzzles which aren't too expensive and they will do over and over again.
