Answer:
I did a surprise baby shower for my daughter's teacher last year with 4th graders. We actually played some baby shower games with the kids. The kids had to guess by cuttin yarn how big around she was, she opened gifts from the kids, we ate cupcakes and punch. we decorated the cupcakes with blue icing and I made pacifiers out of lifesavers and jelly belly jellybeans.
The kids had a lot of fun.

Thank you!!
Answer:
We had one for the teacher when my older son was in second grade. The kids had SO much fun. The room mothers asked that each child bring in a small inexpensive baby gift (pacifiers, baby bath items, rattles, washcloths etc) and the kids presented her with a basket filled with all the items and the kids were so proud! We also did a collection from the moms/parents to buy something off her registry. We played some games and one of our moms is a cake decorator and she made the most beautiful cake for the party. We had such a good time.
Have fun!
Answer:
Thanks!! I knew there would be some GREAT ideas!!
Answer:
what if you had each child bring one of there favorite books they like to read or were read when they were little. this way the teacher will have a nice library for her child and kids that may not be able to afford a bigger gift will not feel bad that they did not get her something more expensive...... that way everyone is happy
Answer:
I love the small item and put it in the basket idea and the book idea! So cool!
What about everyone bringing a onesie and decorating it? Or bring a few plain receiving blankets and mark them in grids with each kid doing their own design?
Answer:
What about having the kids each decorate a plain white bib, or buy some white cloth diapers and they can decorate a couple of them for keep sakes for her.
Answer:
If someone is crafty out of the room moms...my cousin did this...she sent a small piece of fabric to everyone in the family (we have a large family) and we all decorated our piece of fabric and mailed it back to her and then she sewed all the pieces together and made a quilt.
The piece of fabric was used to represent a piece of the baby's extended life, we had to decorate it in a way that represents our own family...but, maybe have the kids decorate it with baby stuff...feet, handprints, blue paint, pink paint...just use their imagination (along with help from their parents)
**I love the basket idea and the book idea though...I really think that is a cute idea***

One of the teachers I work with just had her baby & her class had her shower last week. They did a diaper relay race, the kids had to diaper a baby doll. They also guessed how big her belly was with toilet paper squares.
A cute idea for a project for hte kids...she had each of the kids draw a picture of the baby & guess what it's name would be. Then she had the kids write (a parent helper could do this or send it home with the kids and the parents could write) a few "tip" about what she would need to know about being a mom. She got cute thoughts like..."too much candy will make you puke" (gotta love 2nd graders), "if they stink, they probably need a new diaper", "it will be easy, all babies do is sleep". HA, if only! Anyway...the room mom then put the pictures and writings into a scrapbook along with a picture of the child who wrote it.
Another great idea for shower gifts if this is not the teacher's first baby. Do a diaper & wipes shower. Have the kids bring in all sizes of wipes, swim diapers, and regular diapers.
