Ok anyone else have a husband like this. He likes to cook. Sometimes the combinations he makes and eats are very strange to me. I am a very simple person who likes things more on the plain side rather than too much seasoning or etc....Plus i like what i like and i don't like messing with it.
So my dh always wants to add to my dishes. If i make something for dinner he has to jump up and make one more thing that will make it soooooooo much better. I don't really mind anymore. Before i would say isn't what i made enough??? But after almost 12 years i don't care.
Until he tried messing with my mothers meatloaf. It always turns out great! Well a friend at his work told him her grandma used to put condensed milk in her meatloaf. I've fought him on this for a couple of months....last night i decided to give in and do it. My mom wouldn't be happy if she was still alive. Haha.
So it comes out looking soooooooooooo delicious and i can't wait to try it. I take a big bite and ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww it's as sweet as cake!!!!!! Sweet meat is not good.
My dh had bought a can of sweetened condenced milk and we didn't realize it .
Anyway atleast i got an apology out of him and he said for sure "my recipe" was better than the sweet meat loaf. Haha.
Anyway thought i would share my little kitchen story.

Yes he does!!!!!! He is actually a very good cook....and he cooks often for us.....It's just some things don't go together in my eyes. Haha.

Myu dh doesnt mess with my cooking because he thinks Im a fabulous cook, and after tasting his moms cooking I can see why:hurl: .
She puts no spices in anything , not even salt, even if a recipe calls for it. He wont touch anything she brings over.

Ditto! My dh hasnt' cooked a meal in a loonnngggg time....the last time he cooked, we lived in the old house and I had a migraine.....but I think I already had it planned and defrosted, he just had to cook it! I can't even remember the time before that.

I think that is sweet - no pun intended. I'm the adventurous one - give dh meat and potatoes and he's happy. His specialties are overdone steak on the grill, overdone or underdone eggs, popcorn and Kraft mac&cheese. But he does cook dinner, albeit the quick stuff, when I'm just fried.
