How many sleepers/outfits, etc.. do I *NEED*?

Ask:
Since i've decluttered i'm trying SO hard NOT to bring in more than we need.. i'm due in about 7 weeks (3rd week in April) and would like to know how many sleepers, receiving blankets, etc... everyone thinks i'll need for the first bit.

My babies are usually 5-6lbs, so I start with newborn size for the first month...

Suggestions would be appreciated!!

Newborn Sleepers =
Onesies/vests =
Receiving Blankets =
Pkgs newborn diapers =
Socks =
Mittens (so she doesn't scratch her face)=
Blankets =

I *think* this is all the 'wardrobe' stuff that i'll need.. it's been almost 4 yrs since my last one, so I feel out of practice! lol!

Thanks ladies!

I think it all depends on how often you want to do laundry!
Ds was an October baby. And he was small -- still is. He also received a lot of gifts.
I kept him in onesies and sleepers for about three months. He received some outfits, so he wore those to church, etc.
I think we had about six sleepers and maybe ten or so onesies.
We received a lot of blankets, but I really only liked about three of them, so I used them over and over.
Since he was in sleepers most of the time, he didn't go through many socks. The Old Navy ones were the only ones that stayed on his feet, though.
We never put mittens on him.
WE had a pack of cloth diapers that we found so many uses for: burp cloths, light weight blankets, you name it.
We also received two sleep bags that I loved.

Thanks for your reply... This one will be a spring baby, so i'm *thinking* that i've got enough... only want to buy what is needed as my mom is going to be having a baby shower for me after the baby is born...

Thanks!

I would definitely get several newborn size onsies and sleepers. Everyone told me not to get the itty bitty onsies because babies almost always outgrow them immediately, but Riley was 7lbs 4oz when she was born and worn newborn sizes for ages.

I agree with Jeweled -- you don't need too many blankets. Find two or three that you really love and leave it at that. I took all those blanket/towels that they put in the bottom of Riley's bassinet at the hospital. No yelling at me -- the nurses told me too. LOL They are the perfect size and just get softer the more times you wash them, so try and get a couple of them at the hospital.

As far as any fancy receiving blankets or dressup outfits, I would definitely wait to your baby is older. Nobody is going to be paying attention to what the baby is wearing the first couple of months, I promise.
