Baby and Ultrasaucer

Ask:
I was wondering how old where you babies when you stuck them in the ultrasaucer fun thing????

I put my son in his this morning, he is 2 months and 2 weeks, and he is able to hold him self up really well, and bounce around in it.

I just wonder cause his cousin is 6 months old, and cant even hold herself up or sit up yet. I think its cause the day care she is in leaves her on her back alot, (she has a very flat spot on back of her head).

Thanks, I was just wondering.. You know its just one of those questions you ask other moms, to see if your child is advancing right.
Answer:

The instruction manual for my exersaucer says 4 months. I think it has a lot to do with head, neck, and back control/strength.
Answer:

I started a week ago using the exersaucer. We tried her in the johnny jumper at 3 months but it was harder to stand in. We have used a Bumbo chair since she was 2.5 months to help her develop neck control and keep her from hitting her head a lot. Children develop at different rates.
Answer:

I think we started putting my DD in there at 4-5 months. She was too tiny to put in there any earlier. It may depend on what type of exersaucer.
Answer:

I say use your best judgement. If he's standing ok in it (even if you have to pad him w/ blankets!) and happy, I say let him play!

I think my DS started in his around 3 months as well....
Answer:

You can put them in those type things as soon as they can hold their head up. I used to pad them in with blankets. Just keep a close eye on him that he does not get too tired.
Answer:

Thanks ladies... Yup though he is only getting close to 3 months, he is really strong, and already holding his own body weight... He can sit on his own now... and weights 20lbs!!! he is just a really long baby, not fat just stout... Takes after mommy and daddy actually... I was just wondering cause I know I have friends that have babies the same age, and they are still limp as a noddle and not as active as he is.. He loves his johnny jumper and his saucer, so I guess I'm doing the right, since he is enjoys it.. This boy will probably skip crawling and start walking! .. He just wants to move and do stuff. .. THanks mommies!!!
