Need snack ideas for story hr. kids

Ask:
I have to bring the snack tonight to my dd story hr. Anybody know of a snack that wouldn't be too messy and kids like?
Answer:

Puppy Chow

9 cups crispy rice cereal squares
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups confectioners' sugar

In a saucepan over low heat, melt the chocolate; add peanut butter and mix until smooth.
Remove from heat, add cereal and stir until coated.
Pour powdered sugar into large plastic bag, add coated cereal and shake until well coated. Store in airtight container.

Apple Dip and Apples Slices

16 individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
1/4 cup water
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1/2 cup brown sugar

In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, or in the microwave, melt caramels with water, stirring frequently. Remove from heat. In a medium bowl, cream together cream cheese and sugar. Fold in caramel mixture. Serve immediately.

Of you can always just make some popcorn ahead of time...some regular, some cheesy.
Make little PB&J Ritz sandwiches.Or make wraps and slice them down-you can do those PB&J too...
Answer:

if you also have a mini muffin pan you could also whip up mini muffins or cupcakes.
Answer:

We like sandwiching graham crackers with chocolate frosting..makes an easier alternative to s'mores!
Another suggestion...do you know what the stories are for tonight? Can you base your snack on one?
Answer:

Goldfish, pretzels, crackers and peanut butter, rice krispy treats.

I make gorp by mixing peanuts, raisins, chocolate chips, sometimes peanut butter chips.

It may be too late in the day for this, but I think it's a great idea. Carrot sticks (and dip) if the stories feature rabbits, chocolate mice (should be in shops right now for Easter) for cat stories, perhaps popcorn if the story is about Native Americans, etc.

Obviously some major generalisations in there, but linking the food to the story is a great idea.
