Ask:
I've made a regulat habit of getting waxed but I'd like to cut down due to $$ tightness. Does anyone wax at home and have any tips or suggestions?
I don't think I can do my own bikini but my underarms, lip and legs should be pretty easy and I'll make a habit of actually plucking my eyebrows instead of letting them grow and then going to get it all pulled out.
Thanks!
Answer:
Well, I would not recommend it. I almost ended up in the ER in college trying to wax my lip with a friend doing the same. It was very difficult to get off for some reason. We swore it was worth the money if we were going to do it from then on.
Of course, I didn't do it for a long time due to money issues. I have tried it since then and did not have as bad an experience, but it didn't work anywhere near as well as a professional. I still had hair remaining.
I thought of something to add later: I also think it depends on your hair texture and things. I have a lot of facial hair (well, I did - I took care of that permanently) and it can be very course. My friend that did it with me had lighter, less course hair, but still did not have a good experience. I look back and we did everything right based on the box instructions, too.

Avon has a self waxing kit for around $15.00. I use it on my lips and chin. It works pretty good, you just heat the wax in the microwave. I've never had any problems with burns or anything like that

Cool may have to try the avon stuff wanting to save myself money on my eyebrows. That is all I wax never done anything else.Anyone done the underarms? Does it last longer waxing than it does shaving?
Answer:
I have tried over the counter wax things. They can be hard to use and sometimes you have to go over the area more than once and the wax is hard to get off. The only area I've tried to wax myself is my upper lip. I get my eyebrows waxed professionally so they don't end up uneven. I'd like to hear other more permanent methods of hair removal.

I am in the process of getting laser treatment on my face (where did those hairs on my chin come from????) and under my arms. I have not gone like I should though. But still I have to admit it has taken care of most of the hairs. I hope I will not have to wax again. I have bought several different types of wax and I had trouble with most of them except for GiGi Strip Free Honee Hair Removal System MicroWave Formula. I purchased this at Sally's Beauty Supply and I love it. I have never done my bikini area, since the bathing suit I wear has a skirt on it but I am not sure I would try to do that area at home.

I've been getting my underarms done for about 2 months now and I love it love it love it! I've been getting waxed an average of 1x every 2 weeks! It grows back really fine and there is no dark skin. Like now it's been over two weeks and I have a few longer hairs under my arm (I know ) but you can't even see them!
I highly recommend waxing your underarms!!!
Answer:
I used to have my under arms waxed at the salon. I loved having it done but I can't afford it anymore. I don't do it at home because it is an odd angle for me to reach. I do wax my legs at home and have for a long time. I use the Nair Roll-On. It works very well and I can usually wax 2 times or more with one roll-on, which costs about $7.

I have only tried waxing once and it was my bikini area. I don't know if I will ever try it again.
I received a hilarious e-mail about waxing (before my experience), but it isn't so hilarious after all. I put the wax on and the strip and pulled like I thought they said to. It didn't hurt, and I thought this is pretty easy. Until I looked at the strip and it didn't take any hair off. I tried it again and this time pulled faster and harder and about ripped my skin off. I decided I had to finish the other side and I ended up being bruised. I'm sure I did it totally wrong, I just haven't gotten up the courage to try to do it again.
