Ask:
Does anyone have suggestions for reusable grocery bags?
Answer:
Our grocery store (Sobeys) sells them for 3 for $5 with a guarantee for life ... if they ever wear out they replace them for free. I also love the big woven plastic (don't know how to describe them but they last forever) bags from Ikea. They are about $5 each and I use 3 of those for all my shopping every week. They are so big I usually end up filling only two! And then the squish up nice and small for keeping in the trunk
Answer:
I used them as packaging paper when I send a package in the mail. I wrap the box with them instead of buying it!!!
I also use them on the kitchen table for when I do messy art activities with the boys.
They can be used as murals too if you affix them to the fence outside and let the kids decorate them
Or simply recycle them!!!
Answer:
I've started getting my canvas bags together and am going to use them at the store. I have at least 3-4 so it should be enough.

Thanks for sharing! The Ikea bags sound great. I can usually carry my groceries in 2 trips and would rather have 2 bags than the 10 little plastic bags they use at the store.
I'm on a huge kick to reduce our waste.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh you are talking about plastic bags.....I need to edit my response. I gave uses for brown grocery bags!
I use mine as kitchen and bathroom trash can liners. I'm sure everyone else does too
I have, on occassion, donated them to goodwill (as they use them as cash and carry bags) as well as conseignement stores too.

I'm actually looking for suggestions on canvas or other reusable bags so I don't have to get the plastic bags. I take them back for recycling and use them for trash can liners but I'd like to eliminate using them. Thanks

Gotcha! I completely misunderstood the question!!! I need more coffee!!
Answer:
I have 2 freezer insulated bags from Walmart and 2 (smaller) woven canvas/burlap type bags that I bought from Giant Eagle. I like not having a million gazillion bags too, but the times I go out and forget my bags, it's still okay because I use them as garbage liners in my bathroom, among other things. But it is nice to have all my groceries confined to a few bags. Not to mention, I can go from one store to another and get home without my pizza being sogged in a lump in the corner of the pkg b'c it defrosted in the car.

I asked my MIL for the BIG canvas bag from Lands End for my birthday and I love it!! It holds a TON of groceries and is so strong and well made that I think it will last forever. I also use it to go to the pool in the summer..it holds goggles, towels, luchboxes, books, water toys.etc for 4 kids!! NO kidding!
