Smelly ice cubes

Ask:
I was wondering if anyone else has trouble with smelly ice cubes. I have a baking soda freshener in my freezer, but they still seem to have a distinct smell to them.

Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how do you get rid of it?
Answer:

any chance of it being your water?

well water gets sulfer-y and that can stink

or even city water...we just tapped into that last spring when we got our new house and it totally smells...you can tell when they chlorinate and stuff.
Answer:

I do use tap water, but I run it through the Brita filter. I bet that's it b/c when I buy the ice at the store, it never gets smelly.

Thank you! You have soooooo many great tips, advice and recipes! If you had a book, I'd buy it!
