Ask:
I have a room in my basement that has no windows. It is white. We added a door and my husband had to retexture the wall, and it needs to be painted.
I AM NOT A PAINTER! But my husband really HATES to paint!!! SO, I have to figure out what color to paint it and DO it!!
I am hoping some of you have experience with this and can help me. It is going to be a toy room with a bed in it.
Any ideas would be appreciated!!!
Answer:
yuo could just do it in a khaki(any color will go with it)you can go as light a shade of it as you want....and the primary color of the toys will look inviting in it....You could also(as long as it's not textured do a wall in chalkboard paint. That is always cool for the kids.
Answer:
If it is in a room with no windows I would definately paint it a light color. I like the khaki color idea. Or even just the bottom half any color and the top , baseboards and doors white.
Answer:
The doors and baseboards are all solid oak. I do not think I want to paint them.
Here are two links to colors I was considering.
And should I do some kind of other fancy thing over it? Should I sponge paint it, or just do the basic. I know it is hard to help without seeing the room. I just need to learn how to make decisions! Sorry. I appreciate your help!
Answer:
i like the dover plains
but you are the one who has to live with it...and both of your choices look neutral.
Answer:
Personally, I would go with something that is a little more "Kahki" or even a VERY Pale Yellow.
My parents built a house and have textured walls in the basement. They did the yellow and it looks great with the oak floors and trim that they have.
The two colors you showed are very flesh like....very peachy. Is that the look you are going for?
I noticed the other day that Restoration Hardware had some great paint colors that you can buy. I would not buy their paint, but if you take any paint sample to a paint store they can match it for you for free.
Here are the colors I would suggest...
BUTTER
LATTE
