Ask:
I remember getting the newborn refresher course in the hospital for bathing and they said NOT to get water in their ears. Well how do you know when you CAN? Mine is 6 mos. old and last night some went in there and I freaked and then couldn't really remember when I stopped worrying about it with my oldest. Anyone??
Answer:
I never worried about water in the ears...I mean they live in water for 9 months...a little water in the ears won't hurt anything!!!
(I ran this theory by my ped and they agreed)

Answer:
I have never heard of this before. Every hospital tells diffrent things. sorry that I coun't be much help but I wouldn't worry about it.
Answer:
I never heard of this either... No Qtips in the ear... keep the cord dry.... but never keep the ears dry... Neither of my kids have ever had an ear infection, and they both loved to splash in the tub and take showers with us from the start... At 6 months old, I wouldn't worry.
Answer:
Six months is fine. I asked my ped if getting water in ears can cause ear infections, and he said no, unless the water is dirty, like stagnant pond water. However, it can make them uncomfortable, like when swimming, but not usually from a bath. I just take a towel and hold it up to the opening to absorb extra, and **gasp** put a Qtip in gently, not turning it, just to let it absorb the water. I just be careful to have baby distracted by daddy doing something so she doesn't turn her head quickly.
