Last night I made myself sit down and match all my food storage containers up with their lids... anything that was warped out of shape, lids missing containers, and containers missing lids went in the trash. No more waiting for the missing part to magicially show up... I'm DONE with that. And I still have more containers than I need, only now - I have ROOM to to stack them in the cabinet with the lids on so I don't have to scramble to pair them up when I need one!
...Now I just have to stick with putting the lids on when I put them away after washing.

Doesn't it feel amazing! That drawer always drives me crazy. I just saw an article in a magazine that showed a neat tip. Use a CD organizer to hold all the lids just next to the stacked containers. It took up lots less space and looked very tidy.

My DH is bad about takinig a bowl of something to eat in his car on the way to work, NEVER bringing it in and just throwing it away so I have lots of lids but few bowls. I think I'll treat myself to one of those same size lid sets.

I did something of this sort the other day.... But I got rid of all my plastic food storage... I went and bought a set of Pyrex Glass food storage with tops..... they are safer, and I like them.. There was no need for me to have 20 storage containers.. we never have left overs lol..

I recently when through my plastic containers and tidied them up. I was extremely amazed (and pleased) to discover that everything had a matching lid or bowl. I didn't have any "spare parts". But the tidy up did make things neater and easier to find.
