Constant Crampy Feeling

Ask:
Ok, the past couple days I've had pains in my lower abdomen every now and then. Nothing real close, or consistent. Sometimes it's just kind of like cramps I guess. And it comes and goes but, for a while today it seems like like crampy feeling has been pretty constant and not gone away.

don't have a specific question I guess. But, input???
Answer:

Braxton Hicks get more intense near the end. You really could start going into real labor anytime. When you get to the point where you have the tendency to hold your breath thru the pain (don't - breathing actually does make the pain easier), it's getting real and you want to be timing it. The doctor usually wants you to call when they're about 10 min. apart and head to the hospital at 5 min. apart. On my first, it started at 11:30 at night, but the 5 min apart didn't occur until about 6am. Doesn't mean I slept, though!!

On my second, I simply felt I had big gas pains all night, waking me, but not really badly. Got up at 6:15 am to use the bathroom and my water broke. Never really had much in the way of labor pains until after 5pm and inducement, after spending all day in the hospital waiting for the baby to drop and real labor to begin. The cervix was dilating, but baby wasn't moving down - my water had broken, so I couldn't walk, in case the umbilical cord came down before baby. Good thing, since it was back labor - her little face was against my tailbone and she was so bruised. Arrived healthy, though! Better than the 23 hrs. of labor w/my first.

I think you're in early labor, if it's constant. It's time anyway, right? How exciting! You will soon get to meet your little baby! There's nothing like it. REST, drink comfortably and eat right so you can have the energy you need. Be sure to shower so you feel better. But, do rest. By the time my pains were where it really hurt (w/my first), it was time to get to the hospital. If you are unsure, do not hesitate to call your doctor/nurse on call!! Every delivery is different, as is every baby!

Good luck, soon to be mommy!
Answer:

I ate something, and it seems like a few minutes later the pain was gone or less at least. So, I was thinking,"Ok, maybe I just needed to eat." But now... it's coming an going.

I'll get that crampy feeling for a little bit, and then it goes away or the pain will lessen considerably.

Eh... -worried-
Answer:

When is your actual due date? Sounds like early signs of labor to me!
Answer:

March 30th
Answer:

Yep sounds like early labor, my first was 14 days early. I remember the night I went into labor I just had a need for a home cooked meal, and my dhs mother happened to call dh that day to invite us for dinner 8 hrs afterwards my water broke.
Answer:

yeah, this happens ALL the time near the end. A ton of things will happen and then after the baby is born you will be like, "Oh so THATS why that happened...." But like Momof2boys said things like this can happen weeks before the actual thing.
Answer:

I'm right there with you on this one! Over the last couple days I've had the same constant crampy feeling--sometimes intestinal-crampy, sometimes menstrual-crampy--for hours at a time, but none of the "real" contractions I'm expecting. I'm due the 25th... and desperate to have the baby before then, since I'm so uncomfortable at night. I hope you're close, too! Hang in there! Have you noticed if you lost the mucus plug yet? I know it's not any real indicator of how close your labor is, but for me it was an encouraging sign that at least things are coming under way.
Answer:

Probably Braxton Hicks Contractions, constipation or the pressure of your growing baby. You can always visit your doctor if you are worried Time them as well...if they are coming and going at regular intervals....you are having you baby. Labor starts with a minor time of the month cramping and increasingly gets worse.

I personally did not have any real pain or discomfort until I went into labor with my first little one...other than the minor aches a growing baby gives you.
