Ask:
I need a good idea on where to keep my cookbooks and Taste of Home/ Quick Cooking magazines. I keep moving them from place to place...and am never happy with where they land!
Answer:
I keep mine on my bookshelf in the living room. I only get out the one I'm using so I can keep the counter clutter under control. I used to collect them but I've reduced my collection by about half and I probably still have 40! (too many!) But I also have binders and those small cookbooks you get at the checkout plus any cooking mags and I keep these in a tiny cabinet in my kitchen. It's about 8 inches wide and right by my dishwasher. I can't imagine what it's intended purpuse was but it works well for my binders and mag holders.
Answer:
I keep mine on a shelf in our dinning room. I only have about one shelf of them. I have pared them down since I had so many I never used!
Answer:
I found an old antique wooden milk crate left behind in the basement of our old house,i sanded it down and painted it a deep burgandy and propped it up on it's side so all the cookbooks line up in a row like on a library shelf. It's sitting on my kitchen counter right next to the fridge.
Answer:
We finally renovated our kitchen and I designed it. Having said that, I have a skinny cabinet that is for cookbooks. I use mine almost every day.
Answer:
No cookbooks here, but I love Taste of Home... I keep them in my computer desk hutch, I have a section in it thats two upright slats/dividers for storing binders and stuff, I stash them there so I have easy access since I spend to much time at the computer.
Answer:
Mine's in the back on a shelf in the pantry cabinet. Some put them on top of the fridge or on top of their cabinets, but it just gets too dusty up there!
Answer:
My microwave is above my stove and their is a cabinet above that. I keep mine in there. It's full! I love cookbooks even though I don't cook that much! I just like to look through them all of the time.
Answer:
I use up cupboard space for mine. I only have 5 or so and a binder for ones I tear out of magazines. I don't like keeping a whole magazine for the 2-3 recipes I like so I tear those out and hole punch them for my binder. Now if only I had time to alphabetize them I'd be doing good!
Answer:
I have tried everywhere...On the counter, under the counter, in a cabinet, in the hutch, on the hutch...and then i realized....I don't use them all! I donatated about a dozen books, have 3 set aside for a friend that I need to get in the mail (thanks for the reminder!) and I kept 2. So now those 2 are in the hutch behind a door, happy and secure!
