OMG!! I have been through everything listed here!!! My X was military, I spent 20 yrs raising my kids Alone, He was a drunk and a very Nasty one, but then again he was mean when he was sober (on those rare occations).I spent 27 yrs. beliveing that everything was MY fault and that I deserved what I got!!!!
I got my wake up call the morning He threw freshly made boiling coffee in my face!! I remember standing in the bathroom splashing cold water on my face, Praying to Goddess that I could still see... And I looked up and I did not reconize the person I saw in my mirror!!! That SCARED the H$## out of me! It was like I had steped out 27 yrs. ago and I just CAME back!
I called my lawyer that morning...
Anyway, I am now Married to the most wonderful man in the world, I am living a romance novel!! I kid you not.. We have NEVER even had an arguement, I have never heard him raise his voice! We are now in the process of adopting MY grand daughter, We have had her for over a year now, she will be 2 in may. I never knew what LOVE was suppossed to feel like... I do now, Every time He looks at me I can see and feel it! And I thank Goddess every day for what I have!

Thanks! I vowed that when the divorce was final or when it was progress, I told him that I doubt very much I will ever remarry. I don't want my heart broken again and also for my daughter's sake. She does not need to go through this again1

I said the same thing!! That I would never remarry. You never know. But I was very careful, very careful. And my kids did not meet my dh now until I knew that it was a permanent thing. Well, you know there are no guarentees...but as permanent as a relationship can be....know what I mean!! And he is wonderful, to me and to the older kids...I couldn't have asked for anyone better. And to top it off he went through a similar thing with his first marriage (no kids) so we completely understand each other and DO NOT take each other for granted!!
