Do you have a list of outdoor projects for this summer?

Ask:
The weather is so nice in IA right now (75deg. today) and I've got the itch to get outside and work my butt off. I have so much to do (dh too). Does anyone else have a long list of to dos outdoors this season? Writing it down helps me get started. Raking the leaves I didn't get to last fall. That'll teach me to put things off.
Answer:

What part of Iowa do you live in? I grew up in NE Iowa, approx an hour from Waterloo
I will say, I do miss Iowa's black soil! I hate this clay stuff they call soil out here in CA.

We've started on our planting projects already. We've put in flowers in both front & back as well as a couple trees. Later this summer we are planning on re-staining our deck and putting some new roofing on it.
Answer:

Wow, our list of outdoor projects for this summer are long. It is still way too cold here and too snowy to even think about doing outdoor projects. But, we have our list....

Let see...

1. Grade the backyard (we clear cut and de-stumped it last summer).
after that is done we can
2. Finish putting up the kids swing set equipment
3. Build the greenhouse
4. Build the garden area
5. We are going to paint the exterior of our house
6. Build a new front porch (ours is rotting in a few spots where the rain/snow hits it).
7. Then there is all the normal planting of flowers, berries, etc.
Answer:

I have already started--we bought this house and 2 1/2 acres and most of it was grown up with vines and stickers and we --ME-- have been cleaning it off by hand with a pair of loppers. There is so much to do--the people let it grow up then threw all their trash in it. So we have to haul all of that off too. Ours needs a good tractor in on it too to get up the stumps we can't dig out. It is alot of work but hopefuly we will have something that looks really nice and ups the value of our property. We have an old metel building to tear down and I'd like to make a garden and plant some flowers. There are easter lillies and beautiful purple irises blooming all out on the one side , I want to dig them up and make beds so we can enjoy them.
Answer:

We have a lot since we are moving into a house from an apartment at the end of April.

1. Year up the backyard
2. Put up the deck Gazebo
3. Rebuild the Veggie garden
4 Dig and rake out the flower gardens
5. Put the swingset up
6. Paint the garage
7. Re do the stone pathway in the backyard
8. New gutters

We are moving into my parents house so we already have a head start on what we need to do.
Answer:

I live in north central Iowa about an hr. from the MN border. I guess my outside projects are gonna have to wait awhile. We're supposed to get rain til sunday.
Answer:

Oh, yes I have a list. It is the same one from last year that I never finished.
Answer:

Rake stones back into driveway and out of side of lawn from snow plowing.
Pick up and dispose of tons of dog doo that was hidden by snow.
Plant cherry trees
Replace small Maple tree ruined by ice storm
Pull out lawn and porch furniture from gazebo
Set up gazebo for use
Trim bushes
Make small garden to match the one on other side of my cloths line (clematis, peonies)
Have trees pull out so that we can expand the garden (again!)
Dh will plow up garden
I will put down the gardening plastic
Buy and put in plants (daunting, the garden is unbelievably huge)
Put in a few flowers
Replant strawberry patch
Move and add to grape vines
Move and add to blue berry bushes
Open pool
Finally get garage doors put on

It there is time, enjoy a day or two just sitting on very broken rear.
Answer:

oh man...we got a new house last year and I have a ton of planting to do...did you see that movie HOLES ???... That's gonna be my summer
Answer:

Continue my endless project that I have been working on the past 4 years (since we have moved in here)- the people that lived here prior liked to decorate with gravel! Yuck- did not notice it until the spring ( we moved in 2 weeks before Christmas and the only times we saw the yard it was covered in snow!). Every spring after the snow and rain- more gravel appears- I have to dig out more gravel, lay down more dirt and mulch everything- ! Then I have to replant my calla lillies, plant my vegie garden and we are hoping to drop a few big oak trees around our house (they are huge and would destroy our house if they happened to fall)- we will replant trees to make up for the huge trees though. Oh I also have to get rid of all the toys in my yard- except for the castle and swingset (we have so many outdoor toys that I am waiting for pickup from people on craigslist).
