...and the War finally hits home...

Ask:
My husband got word today that he is to report for SRP on Thursday for deployment to BAGDAD! We're hoping that since he JUST got a medical profile they will turn him right around, but since he's also a certified diesel mechanic, and CAN (sort of) perform his duties, he still might have to go. We just don't know yet...

He hasn't been away from us for longer than his 2 week annual training, and the realism of his possibly being away from us for so long is really starting to set in with me! He's taking me "target shooting" tomorrow, to be sure I know how to handle our weapons, and God FORBID I should be forced to use them while he's gone!!

I guess I'm just asking for prayers to be lifted up for us, since I would be totally ALONE should he leave. I don't know that I'm a strong enough person to BE by myself, but we shall soon see, won't we? (ha)

Thanks...I sure do "LuvMySoldier"!!

Answer:

First, real quick, I LOVE your quote at the bottom of your post (signature line)!

Then, big hugs and prayers from me, too. My brother has been there since November. If I can help in any way, let me know. How long will he be there? Does he know the name of where he is going yet? Is he going with a unit of guys he already knows? That will help HIM, but not YOU much. For you, all I can say is stay BUSY. Stay active in things to occupy your time, and you CAN do this. You are made of stronger stuff then you realize, I promise!
