Ask:
My dh and I took our ds to his first appt. for his evaluation. It was mostly filling out of forms and questionaires. I was very happy that with all the questions that were being asked, really the only things that pertained to my ds were ones that dealt w/ consentration. I told the dr. that if we had filled out the same papers a year or two ago, I would have had to check many, many more areas, but he's come a long way.
She was very nice. She asked if we would leave our son in the waiting room by himself while we talked, we said, "no way." <over protective types> So she talked to us all one by one. She just went over some family history, home life, any "issues" that ds was having. Funny thing...She asked me to describe our family to her, I thought for a minute and said, "We're like the Cleavers " I mentioned a couple of times that I had, though trial and error, discovered some food triggers for his behavior. She made a note about it, but didn't ask any questions about that.
All in all, it went really well and we liked her. My son can't wait to go back. He got to draw a picture of his family. He said it was the best picture he ever drew. It had all of us including "the grandmas."
We have three more appts. scheduled for the beginning of May.
Side note: I didn't feel nervous about this at all (not like me). Then as soon as we got into the truck and started driving down the road, my neck tightened up and I couldn't move my head. It still hurts so much, even today. We stopped to get me some Advil on the way, I took 4 of them and it didn't even touch it. I guess, maybe I was a little tense about this after all.

Way to do it! They usually mail the pages of questions to your home to fill out early but it also gives a person time to over analyze the answers. I know it can be difficult but sounds like you pulled it off in the office only to have a delays reaction.
Do you have chiro who can work on your neck? Get a massage and hot bath. Then just keep us posted.
