Painful Braxton Hicks Contractions...Any one else experience these

Ask:
With my first pregnancy I had Braxton Hicks starting around the same time as now but with very little discomfort. This time around I get to enjoy them for 4-5 hours every evening. They hurt...I feel these at my lower rib cage and it feels like a giant man is giving me a bear hug and it hurts. They feel better with massage or if I prop my legs up really high. Any one else get to enjoy the painful ones?

Answer:

I had them my whole last month and I was induced a week early. I was taken out of work and put on bed rest from 11-4pm every day for this reason. It did help and I upped my water a little. Also I are a lot of small meals since that kept them away. But I would always have them at night from about 8 to about 10 or 11 pm. I feel for you. Just try to remember they are good since they are helpping prepair your body for birth

Well I am only at 23 weeks but these buggers hurt. I know they are not the real thing since they do not feel like regular cramps. I get them on and off between 5pm and 11pm. OUCH.

Hi to all

This is my 3rd pregnancy and I’ve been having Braxton hicks since week 23. I am now 31 weeks and still getting the pains. They feel just like contractions as they start in my lower back. I've dilated 2 1/2 cm all ready. They carry on for 24 -48 hours at a time and driving me insane. They are about 5 minutes apart and last up to 70 seconds. I've gone into hospital 6 times now. I went in again on Saturday, when the midwife on duty told me that I should seek professional help because I am wishing the baby to come out. Any mom that has had more than 1 baby knows that you are in no rush to get the 2nd and 3rd out as you know what awaits you when they are out. In your tummy they don’t cry or need feeding. So I am happy to go term even a bit over. It doesn't feel normal. Please tell me I am not the only one going through this.

I am at 38 weeks now. We went in a week ago but it was a false alarm. I am dilated to a 3 so far. I am ready to have this baby. If you lay down and rest and they go away it is the Braxton Hicks contractions. They started up again last night, but then I went to bed and finally fell asleep. I just hope that they helped dilated me beyond a 3.
