How old were your kids when they started walking?

Ask:
It's not like I'm really worried about it but by 13 month old isn't walking w/out help yet. I know that this isn't terribly late, but I was just wondering when everybody else's kids started. My older daughter started walking when she was 10 mo. which I know is really early. Isn't it funny how different siblings can be.
Answer:

My oldest daughter never crawled, and didn't walk until she was 14 months old. Up until then she just cruised along, and wanted us to hold her hands while she "walked". My second daughter walked at 10 months old. Siblings really are different--all depends on the kid
Answer:

My son crawled at 8 mos., walked at 13 mos.

My little diva, however, wasn't walking at 16 mos. She's heavy, so the doctor said that her legs wouldn't carry her weight. Then he got concerned and ordered blood tests, to rule out diabetes and thyroid issues. Although, thank God, those tests were negative, we found she was anemic so she was put on iron drops. Within 2 weeks she was standing up. Then she started crawling and walking in the same week. She is now 19 mos. and learning to run and jump. In her case, she was just too tired and not strong enough from lack of iron. I still have her on iron drops, although I'm supposed to be weaning down.
Answer:

My dd took her first steps at 9 mos, but ds was a bit older. But here's my wisdow to share with you:

My dd started walking as I said early and was actually running by 1 yr old. Meanwhile my friend with a dd the same age, her dd didn't walk until VERY old...maybe 16 mos or older. BUt guess what...they're now 16 yrs old and none of that matters!! Her dd walks just fine!! I think parents get into this competitive thing of my kids walked earlier, talked earlier, read earlier, etc. And in the long road of life...it just doesn't matter.
Answer:

DD#1 was about 12-13 months when she started walking.

DD#2 is 8 months and is a speed crawler and has been pulling herself up on things for a couple weeks now. I think she will be walking soon.

Personally, I wish it would take longer. Let them be a baby longer. They grow up too fast as it is. I wouldn't worry about it.
Answer:

My son started walking between 12 and 13 months.
Answer:

My older son was walking by a year. My younger son didn't start walking independently until just shy of 15 months (and boy once he started he was off!). There's absolutely nothing wrong with him - he just likes to do things at his own speed. And that's okay!
Answer:

Both of mine started walking at 16 months, my son actually just turned 16 months and started walking completely unassisted this week. Our pediatrician told me anywhere between 12-18 is considered typical and when everyone is in kindergarten it doesn't make one bit of difference who walked first. I know how you feel though I had these same worries about my first child but with my second we are much more relaxed. I realized we need to treasure the stage he is now and not worry so much about what he should be doing next and what other babies are doing. Their time as a baby goes by too fast.
Answer:

My DS walked at 10 1/2 months. My DD was crawling at 5 months and was walking everywhere at 8 months. I thought she was trying to keep up with her big brother.
Answer:

Ds walked right around the time he turned 1.

DD didn't walk until she was 15 months. I had taken her for her 15 month checkup and the dr told me to call her in 2 weeks if she wasn't walking. The next day she took her first steps. She was all but running a week later.
