Ask:
Well, I had my IUD taken out on the 15th of this month and had a period about 3 days later. Its been about a week since I had my period but yesterday and today I am having the feeling like its mentral cramps. Am I ovulating?? Im just not sure normally when I am ovulating its just a sharp pain on one side or the other and this is different so Im not sure. Also, if this is ovulation then how many days do I have where I can conceive? I think I read somewhere it was like 2 or 3 but Im not sure. If anyone knows the answers and could help me out that would be wonderful. TIA
Answer:

I don't have any painful symptoms of ovulation, so I'm no help there. What I can tell you is what I learned from my fertility monitor. It says there are "high fertility" days that lead up to the "peak fertility" day. The odds of conceiving are much, much higher on the peak fertility day. The monitor suggests having sex on the high and peak days.

Here's some information I found about ovulation:

When is the best time to have intercourse in order to get pregnant?
Wilcox had also performed previous work in 1995 (2) which demonstrated that pregnancy only occurs if intercourse occurs within the 6 days prior to and including ovulation. Intercourse after the day of ovulation does not result in pregnancy. The probability of conception ranged from 10% when intercourse occurred five days before ovulation to 33% when it occurred on the day of ovulation itself.
This is the data that suggests the best timing of intercourse in order to conceive is day 10, 12, 14 and 16 (in case of late ovulation) of a 28 day cycle or days -4, -2, 0, +2 in relation to expected ovulation in the case of cycles different than 28 days.

Thank you!!
Answer:
A very good indication of pending ovulation is to check your cervical mucus. If you go to google and type cervical mucus, it will come up to explain how to do this. I was able to predict my fertility this way, and was pregnant in no time, within 2 cycles, both times!!!
Hope this helps!
