I DID IT!I simplyfied toys!

Ask:
I finally got up the guts to do it!
I have a 6 year old and a3 year old (and 13 year old that is not into toys). this is what I kept. YES, I can actually list it!

Fisher price castle and Robin Hood tree house and men that go with it.
Diego's rescue center
box of matchbox type small cars
3 larger trucks
small box of action figures
play microwave and food
army guys
10 board/card games
playdoh
small box of things like binoculars and stuff that the boys call their spy kit
art supplies
wiggles guitar
roboraptor RC dinosaur
RC truck
view masters and reels
wooden train table and trains
magnadoodle
buzz lightyear spaceship for action figures
Large box of dinosaurs

That's it! Everything else is garage sale stuff! I know it still looks like a lote, but to me it is such a victory!
I felt really bad about getting rid of some things like legos (none of my boys are into them), games, race track and other toys from THIS Christmas, stuff that cost a lot. Everything that is left fits on two bookcases except for the castle, treehouse, and Deigo Center that sit on the floor and one large rubbermaid bin of dinosaurs.
It feels so great.

Answer:

What a great job!!! I really need to this especially in dd daughter's room-she is 5 1/2 and has so many toys & stuff. I am so tired of little kids meal toys & stuff!! I seriously need to do this. Can you come to Arkansas from Illinois and help me?!
Answer:

I'd like to be put on the waiting list for you to come to my house too!!!

What a procrastinator I am!! I've needed to do this with my dd's stuff for SO LONG!
It's so hard to get rid of you're kids things. Isn't it? Maybe that's why I've put it off for so long.

But...I plan to "makeover" her bedroom this summer, and need for everything to fit into a small bedroom. Lots of her things are going to have to go, unfortunatley...Lucky for me though, I live right across the street from a thrift store, so it's not that big a deal for me to just haul stuff over there. I've given them my dd's high chair (why I still have this when she's 5 years old is beyond me!!), a vaccuum cleaner (that just needed a belt), a foam "Chicago Bulls" chair, and misc. smaller items and toys so far. All of the clothes that she's outgrown have gone to a 3 yr. old friend of hers (sans special memory baby clothes) and alot of my clothes I haven't worn in ages (or don't fit me anymore) I gave to our babysitter.

The best part of giving toys and larger items to the thrift store is that they are my landlords, and are a Christian family, who allow homeless families to live in one of the apartments for a while to get on their feet, they give them money for food, etc., so in doing this I actually feel like I'm helping those less fortunate in my community. So...what's my DELAY in keeping this ball rolling?!?...I need some inspiration here, ladies! Please pass along some of your success stories and how great it feels for you to have "less clutter" so that I keep my motivation going to get rid of this stuff and simplify my life!! Help!!
Answer:

Wonderful!! That takes so much time, effort, and energy. Good job!!
Answer:

You did awesome!! I really need to get myself motivated and clean out my dd's and ds's toys.
Answer:

That si GREAT!! I am planning on doing this in a couple of weeks when I start setting out garage sale stuff since most of the stuff is put away pretty ok!! then Its not added to the piles!! !!
Answer:

Great job!! I have that on my to do list. I have 2 HUGE totes of toys that my DD#1 doesn't even play with anymore. I have told my family no more toys, since their b-days are coming soon I told family to give money so I can start a bank account.
