Ask:
Okay, all you cooks/bakers out there. . .
Let's say that somebody (any random person would be fine! )was baking a cake, because she was really looking forward to having chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. This person really needed the cake.
This person used a cake mix, mixed up the batter, and poured the batter into the cake pan. She then put it in the preheated oven. Thirty-one minutes later, she took the cake out, only to see that the cake looked funny. The cake is about half of the usual height. Then, she remembered - - SHE FORGOT TO ADD THE THREE EGGS TO THE BATTER!!!
This is hypothetical, of course, because I wouldn't be THAT ditzy!
So, do you think the cake is edible? What will it be like when it cools? I cut out a bite-size morsel and it tasted really good - kind of like a brownie, really. (Okay, I confess, it was me! )
Answer:
lol. I'm assuming that it would be fine to eat. I'm sure people have done worse things to cake..
Answer:
it'll probably be okay...brownie like I imagine!!!
funny story though!!!
Answer:
I left flour out of a recipe once. It was runny but otherwise tasted good.
allgirls
Answer:
I was thinking it might be like brownies too.
Hmm I know...........
Cut it into pieces and top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce or carmel sauce???
Oh My now I want that!
Answer:
Just so the hypothetical person knows, the best chocolate cake and frosting recipe is on the back of the Hershey's cocoa canister. It is the one where you add a cup (or is it 2?) of hot water to the mix.
There are all sorts of eggless cake recipes out there. Yes, the texture is much more dense.
Answer:
My mom makes a scratch chocolate cake w/ no eggs in it and it is delish! (The recipe id from Hershey's baking chocolate box.) And comparing the recipe to most chocolate cakes, it's not much different except the eggs, so it's not like they've added anything to compensate for the lack of eggs. It always falls a little when it comes out of the oven and is very moist and dense, we all love it!
Answer:
So ,hypothetically, of course...how was the cake?
Answer:
The cake turned out okay. It is rather crumbly, but with chocolate fudge frosting on top, it is okay. I wouldn't recommend it, though. The regular ol' kind with eggs in the batter is much better!
Answer:
I like it will be ok...I did this once to and it was alittle dry but it was edible...
