spell it out

Ask:
You know how you spell things so your child doesn't know what you're talking about? You know... "Later we can have some I-C-E-C-R-E-A-M after the kids go to bed." or "Where is the C-A-N-D-Y that I bought and hid last week?".. etc. Anyway, we do this with "nap" because DS went through a phase where if he knew he was going to take one, he refused and started throwing a fit. So we've referred to it as a N-A-P for a while now. Today he was up late, still with no nap, at 3:15 and I looked at the clock and said "Wow, it's late honey, you really need to get a you-know-what." And he looked up at me, all smiley, and said, "What? a N-A-P?"
