LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- The wife of radio and TV host Danny Bonaduce has filed for divorce from the former "Partridge Family" child star after more than 16 years of marriage.
Gretchen Bonaduce, whose troubled marriage with the radio and TV host was fodder for a TV reality show, filed papers Tuesday in Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. She is seeking custody of their 6-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter, according to the documents.
The couple married December 6, 1990, and separated April 9, the divorce petition said.
Danny Bonaduce announced the filing on Tuesday on KLSX-FM's "The Adam Carolla Show," the syndicated radio show where he works weekday mornings.
"I really don't want a divorce," he told Carolla. "I love her."
Bonaduce, 47, said he received an e-mail Tuesday from his wife's attorney offering phone numbers for lawyers.
Bonaduce said his wife had been talking about breaking up for several months and he held out little hope for a reconciliation.
"There's no fight. Nobody's mad at anybody at my house," he said.
"It's been months of 'You know, I think we'd be happier apart. I'm not happy, Danny.' But thing is, she has been friendly, and helpful," Bonaduce said.
It is Bonaduce's second marriage.
The 2005 reality show "Breaking Bonaduce" detailed his efforts to repair his relationship and recover from alcohol and other problems.
Answer:
I'm not really surprised... I don't think many "Hollywood" divorces are surprising anymore (isn't that sad?)
I didn't realize they were together 16 years though...I believe they got married the night they met yes? So 16 years is prob 15 more than most people gave them a tthe time!
Answer:
NO surprise there. She was no angel, and seems a golddigger, but he is quite a lot to deal with.
Answer:
No surprise here, either. From what I saw on their reality show, they both thrive on drama.
Answer:
I have never see their reality show, but him in a lot of interviews he is a bit of a nut. With very troubled addictions. Hope he doesn't go back to using.
Answer:
the man is a freak...until now I was questioning her sanity as well...good for her.
Answer:
I kind of feel bad for him. I greatly question Gretchen though- with all the troubles he had (has) throughout the years- why would she of not left him years ago ? I think it is due to her being a partial golddigger because now that he is making more money (and as far as I know, he is clean right now) and so on. I feel bad for the children- especially the oldest- she seems to really love her dad (and from the show she was really angry with her mom for kicking her father out and so on).
Answer:
Ooooh, what a shock (not). I've seen him interviewed a few times and he always comes across like he thinks he's God's greatest gift to the world. I'm surprised there was room in the marriage for her since Danny's ego takes up so much space. I've never watched his show so I've never seen his wife. However, by what's been said here, they sound like two peas in a pod. I'm surprised his marriage lasted as long as it did.
Answer:
not suprised either. she lived with him for much longer than i ever could.. he is a hand full
