Can being sick mess with your cycle??

Ask:
The last few months, my cycle has been amazingly regular - every 28 days. This month, however, is a different story. Today is day 35, and still no period. I have taken 3 preg tests this week, and they're all negative, so I'm not pregnant. The only change this month has been this illness - it's probably strep throat. If your body is fighting off an infection or other kinds of sickness, will that mess up the menstrual cycle? Forgive me if this seems like a naive question.
Answer:

I would think it probably can mess with your cycle a bit. Let me tell you though that each time I got pregnant was right after I got over being sick!
Answer:

I can tell you that #1 I have my "tubes tied" , so I am 99% sure that I can't get pregnant; and #2 I have been fighting a bad cold for a couple of weeks....and I am a little off right now too. Just a few days....but I am thinking that being sick "messed" it up a little. Now I am "anxious" for it to start....which doesn't help it either.

I know you are trying...so I hope that everything works out for you. But try to stay calm and if it doesn't start in a couple more days, take another test....
Answer:

I'm not sure about the sickness part but Did you take the tests in the Morning? If you don't get it in the next few days I would call your doctor. I'm not a doctor but I think that 8 days is pretty late.
Answer:

I'm right there with you. We are also trying to conceive our first. I am almost a week late, but haven't tested yet. I keep telling myself that it will come anyday and I don't want to be too dissappointed by a negative test. I decided that if there is nothing by Saturday I'll test then. I was also sick with a bad sinus thing and I was directing this play with kids so that was stressful. I never knew how long a month could seem to last until we started trying to have a baby.
