First I will write then I will check and see if my post is online?? Found this site in a google search! I need advice/help! where do i start? I am a single mom with 2 awesome girls! I am now engaged to an AMAZING man with 2 fabulous little boys! My new husband has custody and I will be a stay-at-home mom for 4 kids( all in school except his youngest son who will be in pre-k)....life is great...HERE is the problem! due to limited financial resources, we are trying to convince the ex wife (who DOES NOT HAVE CUSTODY BY THE WAY!) that 3 days of pre-K (which is cheaper than 5 full-time days) is JUST AS BENEFICIAL for the child as full-time pre-K.
because the parents have to "agree" on decisions involving childcare, religion, med treatments,etc.....we are having a hard time getting her to agree to let us put the child in pre-K for 3 days a week instead of 5. we feel he will still benefit from the schools curriculum and will be very well preparped for kindergarten come fall 2008. she is making excuses he needs to go full-time....basically to SPITE ME because she DOESNT want the child at HOME with ME for TWO days a week.....
am i in the wrong forum.where do i start?> i need a non-biased opinion!
thanks for listening. any help/advice/info is appreciated.
what a great site. i am glad i found it!

First off WELCOME! Trust me, you will get TONS of advice here!
For your situation, have you and your new Dh thought about getting together at the school with mom (and step dad if there is one) and EVERYONE talking to the administrator, teacher, counselor or whom ever would be the best to gain knowledge from and let that individual tell everyone involved the pros and cons of 3 days vs 5 days? It's just a thought and I hope maybe it will help. Hopefully someone else here will have even better advice.
Again WELCOME!!!!

How did he do on the preschool screening? If he did well on that I would try to show her that. Here where I live the only kids that really can go to preschool are kids that scored low on that. Preschool really doesn't teach them a whole lot, unless they need extra help. I'm sure that talking to the teacher with her would help a lot.
