How often do you have your baby's picture taken professionally?

Ask:
I was REALLY good at it with my oldest five...we did it OFTEN. With my youngest, though, between being number six, being born at a time when saying money was super tight is an understatement, and then moving a 10 hour drive from home at her first birthday, I just didn't do as good with her. I hate it...but at least we live in the time of digital cameras...which I use almost daily!
Answer:

Answer:

I have never taken my kids for professional pictures. I love the feeling of making my baby laugh and the memory of the pictures I take. I have a folder of pictures I have just taken of my kids on my computer that takes up 4.5 gig. If I want them printed for frames, I email them to Wal Mart and then pic them up. Costs me 20 cents a picture. As soon as I figure out how to post some, I will....
Answer:

Since I dabble in photography, I take my own pictures. And every now and then we go to a park or something and I try to make it look professional. And it is about time to do that again. Thanks for the reminder!!
Answer:

Hardly ever. THe last time was in Dec 2005. My 3rd baby was 4 1/2 months, now she is almost 21 months. My 4th baby is almost 10 months and has NEVER had a professional photo.I got a digital camera for Christmas, but I don't use it much. I feel kinda bad, I don't have many pics of my kids.
Answer:

We've never had it done professionally - ds is now 6 months and has to suffer through the occasional photo shoot with me, but that's about it! I put together little photo albums at 3 months and sent them to the grandparents & great-grandparents. I'll probably do it again around 1 year. They're all so far away that it's nice for them to have an entire album to show off to their friends, rather than just one pic anyway!

You know, I love taking pictures and I even wanted to take courses and pursue photography as a serious hobby (pre-baby, etc.) But sometimes I don't want to worry about taking pictures - even when on vacation in fantastic charming picturesque European places. Sometimes I just like to enjoy life without worrying about capturing every moment on film. Do you feel like that too? I guess you're just enjoying being with your kids and that is wonderful in and of itself!! as long as you have a few shots to remember how they looked, I don't think it's necessary to record every moment or even every week - but that's just me... (I'm trying to tell you that I don't think you need to feel guilty. did that come across?!)

I've never had my kids in for professional photos. I have some super cool ones that I took, though. I'll have to see if I can find Rugby's 6 month pic and post in the I Made That forum. You'd never know it wasn't prof.
