Thanks for the "whack" on the head!

Ask:
Thanks for pointing out some basic common sense: New stroller costs less than new vehicle. Buy new stroller.

It sounds so obvious, but we have had such a history with strollers (10 strollers so far) that I had to promise and SWEAR that our current stroller was the final stroller we would ever buy. And it's still in perfect condition and I still love it... and it was expensive! So, I just didn't even consider the simple solution of buying a new stroller.

But, it was not nearly as expensive as a new van would be!!!

Thanks ladies, for pointing out the obvious and saving my marriage! (kidding)
No, seriously, we can move past this silly argument now.

Well, you do have an excuse to have preggo brain!
Answer:

If you are buying a new stoller just to let you know there are some Toys r us's that will let you try it out and make sure it fits in your van. My sister and BIL wanted to buy a double jogger and non of them would fit and they got to try every one of them out. I don't know if all stores do this but I would check into it. Also I have a Graco metro lite and love love love it and it folds very compact.

Glad you solved your dilemma!

I know what a hassle it is shopping for strollers.. but they are always coming out with such awesome new ones i'm sure you'll find one you love! Also.. could you sell yours to make some money towards the new one?
Answer:

i suggest the snap and go for the first year then an umbrella style
Answer:

i agree new stroller i'm with you strollers are just so irritating to find a good one that meets all your needs...i would do the snap and go while your child is young they do fold pretty flat...then when it was time to get one where he or she can sit i would do a more expensive umbrella(i have the jeep umbrella and have had it for almost 6 years the new ones are even better) do you need a double? if you do get an umbrella that has the reclining seats usually a 6mo old is big enough to use and umbrella as long as the seats recline. otherwise i would get a good quality umbrella with reclining seat and get a stroller bag(there are tons out on the web) to carry diaper bag stuff and you would be set....

I just posted on your other thread about my MacLaran umbrella stroller that I LOVE. My little one started riding in that thing when he was only 4 months old. Granted, he is a big baby, but as soon as he outgrew that carrier I started putting him in the umbrella stroller and he fit just fine in there.

No, seriously, we can move past this silly argument now. Take it to a consignment shop and sell it to them, and or trade it for one like you need. (Just a thought) wish you lived closer and I would give you 2-3 that I have

If it makes you feel any better, I have a huge Ford Expedition, and my double stroller doesn't fit behind the third seat either. I can't believe I didn't see those folding carrier frames - what a lifesaver that would have been.

My DH thought we had a lot of strollers - but I only have 6 and am contemplating buying a 7th for our Disney trip because I think a double umbrella would work and I can buy one for a lot cheaper than renting strollers all week. Plus, I would need one for the airport anyway for the two little ones. My Graco double SUCKS - I hate that front/back thing, but it has the storage when you are shopping. I love the double jogger - I keep it in my garage because we use it everyday to walk. However - it doesn't fit anywhere, and I could never take it to Disney. I've thought about taking the two umbrellas, but if my DH and son are doing something that the two little ones can't do, then that leaves me with two strollers. I am going to clean some of mine up and sell them at the next consignment sale in the spring. I actually saw one just like my Graco sell for $100 at the last sale, which is crazy, because I think I only paid $160 or so...

Is this really our lives that we collect strollers?????? If the younger you could see today's you worrying and thinking about strollers and minivans - wouldn't she laugh??? I know my former self would - it's hilarious sometimes to think about. Of course, I wouldn't change a thing!

BTW - I'm really enjoying your posts the past few days - my DH and I are at a standstill about the child #4 debate. He says yes and I say no. I am only 75% no, so he still has a chance...I think 4 is a truly great number of kids, however, I worry that I am too old to do it again! I can't wait to hear more!
