Ask:
I like the Partylite candles because they burn down to nothing, just the wick so you don't have to scrape wax out of the holder. Some of their things are too expensive for me so I get the votives when someone is selling them.
I also like the ones at Dollar Tree.
I have yet to get a 3 wick candle to burn properly--don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any tips?
Answer:
I like plain white unscented candles...I get them mostly at IKEA.
If you're burning tealights in any sort of container, I have a TON of small glass containers that I burn votives in...if you put in a little bit of water into the container with the votive, the wax pops right out when it's cool. No mess, no fuss...easy as pie.

I Love candles so much that my mother and I started making them on our own...they smell oh so yummy and burn really good!
Answer:
I love Yankee Candles- only I can't afford them for how much I burn them. I usually will buy the HomeTrend brand from Wal-Mart- you can get 2 big jars and 4 little ones for $10- I only really buy the vanilla scented ones (it helps me from craving sweet things throughout the day).
I used to really enjoy the Partylite candles but honestly fel the past few times I have purchased them- the quality has gone done and really not worth the money (though I must say I really did enjoy the roasting chestnuts fragrance during Christmas time).
The Hometrend 3 wick candles from Walmart seem to burn the right way- just keep checking the wick to make sure it is not burning to long (since then they usually fall over and burn the candle weird). HTH!
Answer:
I like the ones from Walmart, too. They smell great and are inexpensive. Some of the Home Interior ones smell pretty good, as well. I also like the Yankees but they are so expensive. My mil got me a Wood Wick candle for Christmas and it has a, well, wood wick in it...like a wide popcicle stick, kind of. It crackles like a fire and it smells pretty good. They are a bit too pricey for me to buy to burn daily, though.
Answer:
My favorite ones are Yankee- but i agree they are a bit pricey!! I like the Walmart brand ones to. I just wish that they would have more flavors!

You need to press the wax down while it is soft so it is all even right after you blow it out or periodically while they are burning. You can do this to all candles to get the most burn time out of them.
I like the Yankee Candles too but they are too pricey for me so I started making my own. It's cheaper, I can make any fragrance I want and have it as strong as I like.

I agree with you ksmom! I love Yankee candles & wish I could buy them all the time. I really like to buy them @ Christmas time. I really liked their sunflower scent. I also like the Wal-Mart ones too, just more scents to choose from.
Answer:
I only burn soy candles because they do not contain paraffin which produces 95% more soot. With 2 asthmatic children, regular candles are much too hard on their lungs.
Answer:
Are you ever right about soot!!! When I look at my ceilings I am amazed at the soot on them and I know it is from Candles. BUT I love them and the way they make my house smell. I like Tyler Candles - they are fantastic!!! They are part soy so they do not soot too bad. Pineapple Crush and High Maintenance are my two favorite scents. I also use an effusion lamp - it does not soot and smells my house up fantasticly!!!
