Jon & Kate plus 8

Ask:
Has anyone seen this show? I watched it for the first time yesterday. All I have to say is wow! The lady was on fertility drugs and had twin girls who are about 6 now. And then later had 6 babies all at once (I think they are about 2)!! Yikes!

I dont know how she does it! Just going out with the kids and her dh to the pumpkin patch was a big ordeal.

She tried to hire a person to clean her home - then at the end she looks in certain parts of the house where the housekeeper missed and she got all snooty and said thats not up to my standards to herself.
Answer:

I have to say If I were to pay someone then Id be more picky about the cleaning!!
if it was a person doing it to help me that is a whole other strory!!

I wonder if these are the same people who they did a special on TLC 2 weeks ago. It was the story of their birth and then the next hour was 18 months later (He was Asian, I think). I'm curious.
I cannot begin to imagine and think they did great for having so many little ones!
Answer:

I watched it last week and this week...and I enjoy it.

I thought Kate could have been a bit more helpful to the cleaning lady...I always find it's helpful in each room to show someone what your expectations are and then let them try. If they don't follow your expectations (in Kate's case there was also a language barrier issue), then you let them go. Since Kate had such a hard time finding anyone who was even willing to try to be her cleaning lady...she might have been more helpful. I realize that she was paying for this woman's services, but considering that no one else was even interested...

What I like about Jon and Kate is that they work together...it's not perfect and, yes, they do get on each other's nerves...but they make it work. I've also noticed that they have little outside help. For the most part, it seems like it's just them and their 8 children. If I had that many kids, I think I would need more help...

I like them too. They are very real. I watched the 1 hour special some time last week when I was flipping the channels and got sucked in. My dh even watched part of it. It had been a particularly challenging day for us because we were all sick and tired and grouchy and we watched that show in awe of those 2. It totally changed our "poor me" attitudes. At least for a couple of hours!

I watched the show last night. Those little ones are so cute. Is it something that is going to come on every week? What day? TLC repeats so many things I can't ever figure out their schedule.

Yes, it seems they got their own show as a spin off of those specials. The show is both encouraging (If she can, I can...) and HILARIOUS! She is a total control freak, makes me look like a pushover! Then her husband makes fun of her, it does seem pretty "real"
Answer:

Darn, I saw a commerical for it and meant to set the DVR. I forgot. I will try again for next week.
Answer:

Did you all see the one where it showed her pregnant belly?? OMG! She was lying on her side in the hospital bed, I think that was about the only position her body could even tolerate. It was huge.

After watching those two hour specials last week, dh was all like "and you think you can complain about ONE!"

This is not the show to watch with your hubby! He will get ideas, ladies, beware.
Answer:

I did see that commercial that quickly showed her preggo belly - with 6 kids inside!
I said holy crap that lady's belly is going to pop! Dh was at the computer and I was watching the show in the living room. DH came over to see what I was watching and he enjoyed the show.

I only have 1 kid and that tires me out.
Answer:

Is this the family that awhile back there was a movie of the week about them? The couple was played by Melissa Reeves (from DOOL) and Scott Reeves (Y&R)

I haven't watched it yet. I suppose you would somewhat have to be a control freak or with that many children your house would look like a bomb went off and exploded toys and clothes everywhere.
