My frugal day

Ask:
1. turned in books at Half Price Books---got $16 plus a coupon for 10% on purchase. I was able to walk out of there without spending money. Yeah--books are my downfall.
2. checked out new releases from the library for free: Pursuit of Happiness, The Guardian, Man of the Year and The Prestige
3. Got $13 from sold items at Stuff, ETC. There I found a Dora Photo Shop Set still in the original packaging for $5.59 after a 25% off coupon. It will be a future Birthday or Christmas present for my youngest.
4. I walked out of Kohls without spending a penny I was looking for new shoes and didn't find any that fit. I saw the cutest sundress for my youngest that was normally $20 and on sale for $8. Now the old me would have said what a bargain and grabbed it. But the new me stopped and thought she already has at least 8 dresses and doesn't need anymore. Yes I was proud of myself!
5. picked up dd Albuterol nebs (free because they are generic) and bought a gal of milk for $1.99 with coupon.

My plan is with this "found money" from selling books, clothes, etc is to stash it in a secret place downstairs and buy presents with it throughout the year so it's not a shock to the pocketbook when birthdays and Christmas roll around.
Answer:

Good job! I have no will power in the baby section of Kohl's when they have a sale (and there always seems to be a sale!)

I wish we had a half price books around here, I have a bunch that I probably won't re-read.
Answer:

Way to go!
